Jeff Beck wins this video showdown. If Beck would only put more rhinestones on his clothes and suck in his cheeks. Vai is a gifted musician but his songs do nothing for me.

if vai sucked in his cheeks any more he would implode!Chuck called out the shots early on and is right,i thought the encoding was slightly off-mind you vai normaly spends a lot of time writing out his solo's note for note so getting his hands in the right position for a vid shot should be very easy

Anyone else feel like cutting off their hands after watching that? Man, he had total control of the instrument and his music - what shame he's no longer here. That Shawn Lane vid was excellent as well. I'm not that familiar with his work, but he sounds like a mix of Vai and Eric Johnson. Thoese pentatonic licks are insane!

That was absolutely incredible. EJ not only can shred his ass off, but he has such a great touch.

I can't understand why stuff like this would make you want to quit. To me it is very inspiring, and shows what you can do with the guitar if you work at it.
