I like most of the well-known stuff like Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, the Black Crowes, the Allman Brothers, etc., and have found some other good stuff in the Four Horsemen, Ghost Riders, etc. but I'm looking for some other suggestions. Anyone?

Re: Suggest some \"southern rock\" bands
probably a bit 'uglier' than what you're looking for, but: Eyehategod
(from NOLA, very swampy, nasty dirty.. southern )
also check out Crowbar and Down
all a bit heavier/harder than most of the bands listed (fits in with C.O.C.), but with a very southern take on heavy

Get the Outlaws, "Bring 'em Back Alive". Great live album. I saw them in '81 a couple times and they were great. Just as good live as they were in the studio. Best live sound of any concert I have ever been to.Scott

brand new sin... from ny but, they have a heavy southern sound.
[/ QUOTE ] I saw these guys in NYC and they rocked. In fact Brand New Sin, Zeke, and COC pretty much ruled that show, and the headliner was Motorhead.Scott
