What about Driving and Cryin'? I don't know if they qualify...but they were always pretty Southern Fried when I saw them.

The Radiators will give you some fine Southern Rock with a real New Orleans flair.

Zakk Wylde's "Pride and Glory" and "Book of Shadows" albums. Lots of southern vibe.

I have a couple of their albums, seem more poppy on the studio stuff but still a pretty cool band.

They are kind of "poppy", bu Fly Me Courageous and Build A Fire are heavier though. Also Turn It Up or Turn It Off is kinda heavy...
