• Looking for chaotic, virtuosic guitar music

I'd like to find more wild, chaotic, virtuosic guitar music to listen to, in the vein of Steve Vai's "Kill the Guy with the Ball." Any recommendations, anyone?

I have lots of Malmsteen, Vai, Dream Theater, Andy Timmons, etc., which is great, but most of it doesn't have the chaotic, crazy feel that this song has.

    Thanks!

Liquid Tension... side project of Petrucci and Portnoy, crazy but unbelievably cool.. I like it much better than DT

Thanks, Zerb! I checked out a sample of LTE online, and it sounds pretty cool, so I'm going to try to get my paws on some. I love stuff with lots of time changes, wild guitar, and if possible, an out-of-control feel.

Cacophony (it even carries the chaotic nature in its name).

Also: Ayreon, Apocrypha, Friedman & Becker's solo albums (mostly Dragon's Kiss and Perpetual Burn), ...

Cant get much more chaotic than Dragonforce... hyper speed power metal, blast beat drumming, cheesy computer game keyboards, at least 6-8 solos per song, whacky whammy pedal tricks, insane shredding, cheesey vocals

Best new power metally band in years imo, both the tracks above are worth a couple of full listens for anyone

Also, Children of Bodoms 1st album Something Wild is crazy, deathy shred metal with loads of cool solos.
