The ONLY one I seen here that was worth a mention so far is Fredrick Throdenal's Special Defects..but Spastic Ink makes that look tame. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

and I'm sure you already know who Cacaphony is by now..

Joe Sump's guitar HEROE is Olaf Lenk of At Vance ...but NOT "chaotic"

But if you "pretty" polished shit like that you can't beat Uli Roth's Metamorphisis...Vivaldi's four season..it's untouchable..in every way..but It is NOT Chaotice..pretty far from "chaotic"!

Dude..you want to know crazy guitar music..come to me!

lol gotta love saying 'not really power metal hes after' then listing Symphony X... cheesiest most over produced & over orchestrated power metal band this side of Rhapsody, hardly 'chaotic' :P and.. Time Requiem.. er power metal super group?! Majestic aswell, cheesey power metal (i have their promo)..

Dragonforce is one band in the increasingly stale power metal genre which combines brilliant guitar playing talents with totally unpredictable songs, hence my recommendation [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Some good bands in that list, i picked up a few Athiest & Spiral Architect cds a while back, really really crazy stuff, especially the bass player on speed!!

Biomechanical, it's chaotic but yet tuneful. I believe big things will happen for this band.

Check out some of Buckethead's stuff. Not quite in the same vein as Vai, but definitely chaotic & wild. I really like his Monsters and Robots album.

heh horns666, i got mixed up between Majestic em yeah... but saying that i've got Abstract Symphony in the car as a drive to work cd... stunningly good stuff on that cd!!!

Just about to order some Theory In Practice & Symbyosis... loving the sample tracks on their websites!!
