• anyone remember Lizzy Borden?

the band, not the axe murderess...

I just pulled out some of my old cassettes and found their Visual Lies album from 1987, man is that one good. that guy (creepy looking as he was) could really sing. and the band was not bad either. I just like some of those harmonies and chordal progressions they put together, that's some good stuff.

I've got The Murderess Metal Roadshow on vinyl which is a live album. It was pretty funny coz when I put it on the vocals were so high up I thought I had the record player on the wrong speed lol. It has a great guitar duel type of thing in the middle of the set. They used Jackson guitars didn't they?

Yeah, I listen to Visual Lies, Master of Disguise, or Deal With the Devil at least once a week!

New album (and lineup) due to be released soon... (I'm a smidge disappointed in their hiatus to record the Starwood album. I don't have it yet, but it is on my "to buy" list.)

This was probably the first rock band I ever saw live. They opened for Yngwie.

I like the studio albums. I have the Muerderess Metal Roadshow DVD and that kind of made me wonder if I still liked them...........Menace to Society is a very cromulent album that embiggens us all.........

cool! I have the first two, but MOD is a little on the weak side compared to VL. never got the third one you mention.

I've been trying to get VL on CD over here to replace the vinyl that I sold years ago, but it doesn't seem to be available....

No, the singer from Krokus or Kevin DuBrow must hold that title

I felt that MoD was an excellent album. It had more of a dramatic flair than Visual Lies did. Deal With the Devil is the album they released in like 99 when they re-formed. This is Alex Nelson's last album and tour. (RIP)

Yeah, that's Lizzy. (I've got more pictures from this past January at NAMM if I can get them off my old hard drive.) Nope he's not a handsome man by any stretch of the imagination, but he's got one of my favorite singing voices. On the other side of me is Marten Andersson who's been the bassist for Lizzy Borden for quite a while as well as the bassist in George Lynch's band. I've always wanted to jump at the chances lately to be in Lizzy Borden but I never got my act together.

DuBrow's biggest contribution to metal is the day he gave up on Rogaine and bought a that ridiculous wig. I have a compilation CD where he butchers "Big City Nights" and "Whole Lotta Love".

tekky, I agree about his voice, that's what really drives their songs, he's a great singer with tons of range and a hard hitting impact. love that sound.

by the way, what happened to Alex Nelson?
