on this video he is using a duncan mini bucker at the neck and a duncan ??? bucker at the bridge
he even thnakd seymour duncan at the end of the vid in the credits
he is now using a TZ and a HFH but back on this vid he had duncans

It is some kind of Duncan but not sure which one. I think it was just before PM started endorsing Dimarzios. I also think the sound you are describing comes more from his
technique and rig + it looks like it was recorded with a handy cam : )

Paul's also been known to use the Humbucker From Hell which is essentially the tone of a single coil but looks like a HB.

Its probably a Duncan Distortion in the bridge wired in parallel, and an old SD minibucker in the neck.
