Re: Sebastian Bach in VH?

That is an old rumor. On one of the old VH1 countdowns or When Metal Ruled World Bas acknowledge that it was a rumor, but he had never been approached about it.

Wasnt Coverdale the one who mentioned he was nbever approached? He and Dave Menniketti from Y&T were rumored as well.I cant see Dave with VH becasue he is a great guitar player himself .No solos, being turned down in the mix? Nah...Eddie would never.

Who knows though, EVH Asked Patty Smyth of Scandal to replace DLR in 1985.

only way any singer will probably work with VH would be a no name guy that is hungry and can take being bitch slapped around by the Van Halen boys on a daily basis.

Coverdale said that it maybe would have happened if Eddie would have took some time to meet him and talked seriously about it. It supposed to happen but Eddie never came.

I heard the former lead singer from The Pet Shop Boys was being considered too but when Ed found out that Freddie Mercury was available he stopped the negotiations. I heard 1st hand from Ed (I talk to him on the phone all the time) that the reason Mercury is so appealing is the fact that he would provide very little hassle to Ed. Just prop him up on stage and let er rip. Writing new songs would be really easy too.

I think Baz would be a kick ass frontman for VH. However, it will never happen. They just need to bury the hatchet and get Roth back in the saddle. They would sell so many records they could retire from one album...not that any of them are hurting for cash. The tour would be insane. Everyone stays clean and they rock the world one last time...

              A boy can dream, right?

Dunno, I think the time has came and went for DLR. Not sure many people care much about what he has to offer nowdays.

His last solo effort was one of the better "VanHalen" albums, hehe, and no one cared.

                  +1 Mike!

I disagree, CM. DLR can still kick ass, the DLR+EVH combo is pure magic, and they could pull another great album/tour out of the hat that would again shake up the music world if they put their minds to it.

And I REALLY wish they would, because the overall music scene is looking pretty dull to me right now.

Last I heard, Ed was in a bad way lately. So probably not even thinking about, let alone auditioning, anyone.

Not like I know him personally, though, so take that for what it's worth. (...Which is nothing. )

                            Re: Sebastian Bach in VH?

My singer auditioned for VH in '96...didn't get the gig.."Sounded too much like Dave"..

he took the instrumental "Baluchitherium" off Balanace and put Vocals to it ..at the studio he worked at.

It came out VERY good!!!...it sounded like the song meant to have those vocals..he was contacted by their management.

I emailed VH in 2000 and kept dropping the name of Jorne Lande..I think he would BEST fit VH ...IMO

Being able to cover all the Sam and Dave material...and writes great stuff on his own..

But, I agree with John...they are in a bad state of affairs at this point..due to Ed, He's done I think.

I highly doubt you'll see anything "good" coming out of that camp ever again..so hold on to memories!

Most guitar mags keep EVH on a pedestal. In the recent Guitar One with YJM and BH on the cover they have him on the top 10 guitarists that should hang it up.

I just seen on MTV that VH announced their new singer. Someone that they thought could help get them street cred with the younger generation......I just don't think that 50 Cent can cover Roth's vox though....just my opinion. -Lou
