I remember doing an oil of that pic in high school. I think I gave it to a high school crush, who never gave it back to me (she was really into Ozzy and Randy...and that painting won her over for a while....well...got me laid anyway...LOL!)

I read that it was the photographers and Randy just used it for the photo shoot.

There is an interview with that photographer in a 1987 issue of Guitar (player?)... I'm pretty sure he said the acoustic guitar seen in the same shoot was the photographers... the LP was Randy's. Why I remember this... I have no idea.

That was actually from his last photo shoot I believe. I don't think he got the chance to use it live.

I remember reading in that '87 interveiw with the photographer, that it was indeed his very last photo shoot, and the accident occured maybe a week after that.

A friend of mine was given one of those to him by his Dad (a lefty Les Paul). Such a nice guitar but he ended up destroying it by using the neck and pickups for his own custom guitar which turned out really bad.
