He bought it at a pawn shop while on tour. Where, I do not know, but he liked it alot. He had made a short comment in an interview about the guitar. I don't really remember what publication, but that;s all I know about it.

I had that poster on my wall for about 8 years until a couple years ago when I took it down to store it safely so nothing would happen to it while moving stuff around. It's a great photo.

A friend of mine was given one of those to him by his Dad (a lefty Les Paul). Such a nice guitar but he ended up destroying it by using the neck and pickups for his own custom guitar which turned out really bad.

[/ QUOTE ] How did he get the neck out of the body?

I have no idea what so ever. I've wondered how he did it and still couldn't think how.

I've read that Randy couldn't get quite used to the middle pickup. It came in the way for his pick, as that was usually where he picked. So he didn't use it that much, as far as i know... He also had to live with his guitars and get used to them before he could use them much on stage as far as i know

People have replaced necks on the LP's so it's possible. I imagine the glue is not that strong or atleast no so strong that you can't get a flat blade in the joint to break it free.

To remove a set neck, I believe they remove the fret above the neck joint, then use a tiny drillbit and drill down in the center of the slot. Then steam is applied into the hole with a small metal tube, this loosens the glue.
