• Worth it to see current old school Anthrax ??

Alright, Anthrax will be in Hartford this Sunday. ..was wondering if anyone here has seen them recently with the old lineup together? The price isn't much an issue as it's not that much, but woth the time?

God Forbid and Sworn Enemy are openers, which is kinda enticing, but I'd like to hear 1st hand from here if it's worth going to!

I really enjoyed the show I saw in Sydney. It would of definitely been a regret if I missed it. From what I've read, some people havent enjoyed the reunion shows. If you can get past how fucking ugly Danny's PRS is, go for it!

From my perspective, it has to be worth the time, just so you know if it was any good or not. For what it's worth, the new live DVD is pretty good though....

Yeah, I'm leaning towards going. I used to listen to their older stuff all the time, so this might be a good time to hear it live. I've seen them twice before...about 15 yrs ago!, 1st time was w the Clash of th Titans tour, and 2nd was when John Bush joined for the Sound of White noise.

I saw them 3 times back in the day (ATL, SoE and PoT), and I wish I'd gone to see the reunion when they were in the UK. Spitz's PRS sure is hideous though

Best show of 2005 for me, when I saw them.

Based on how bad Joey was the two times I saw them in the 80's, you won't see me at one of the new shows. The band was incredible - always are - but Joey was a joke.

If you've never seen Anthrax...go. Scott and the boys are incredible musicians and a lot of fun to watch. I only wish John was still in the mix, but that's a different thread.

I the "new" old Anthrax open for Preist a couple of months ago. If you like the old stuff, go. Joey sounded great the night I saw them. Nothing beats seeing them on the Among The Living tour though...

I saw them tons of times with Bush and they were phenomenal. I saw them tones of times with Joey. The band was great but Joey...eh... I'm not going to see them on NAMM weekend because I don't want to hear a few good songs then have to sit thru Antisocial and the 4-5 other songs they won't let go of.

I saw them in Chicago back in April, I think it was their 2nd reunion gig and they were great. The last time I had seen Anthrax with Joey was on the Among tour, and he still has the same energy and interaction with the crowd. I'd say it was worth it...check em out. My only disappointment was they didn't sing Armed and Dangerours, but that's nitpicking IMO.

I saw them several times back in their hey dey. I couldn't make it to the reunion show here in Jersey where they filmed the Alive 02 DVD. I agree with several others that the DVD show was really good and you shouldn't hesitate to go to the show if you can make it.

If they ever make it to TX I am there. I saw them 4 time with Joey and once with Bush. I prefer Joey, but I understand why people like Bush.

I saw them open for dio with john bush, they were pretty good. Then I saw them with priest...... putting it nicely, they weren't good. Maybe it was an off night?
Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

Well you'll just have to wait a few hours and hear from me. I'm going to the show in NYC here tonight. Though I'm pissed about how it went down with Bush and Caggiano and I am angry Anthrax has effectivly turned themselves into a nostalgia act (the thrash Kiss as it were) I'll still go because it's Anthrax ... not my Anthrax anymore but it's still the band from my hometown, though this is not the line up I would want to see again.
