Re: Gary Moore vid

Around that time Gary was using either SLOs or 50 watt hotrod Soldanos, depending on the size of the venue. Amazing player.

Gary is one of the best but his DVD from Monsters Of Rock is horrible. He is sloppy as fuck there and his tone sounds like a canned ass. He used some new Marshalls there, very scooped and fuzzy/hissy tone.

No wonder my Modern High Gain setting sounded pretty close, Soldano copy. On the studio version, he was using the Bluesbreaker/Guv'nor setup though...right?

The closest tone I ever got to classic Gary Moore..cooridoors of power...was my Mesa Mrk II and a Marshall cab and a PRS CE 22..It sounded nailed to me!

"Whoa! Gary is great. His bending and vibrato are unmatched... well, Yngwie comes close."

Yes..both are both very awesome players..but they don't come near Uli in that area...Ulrich is the epitome of feel and vibrato hands down...In my not so humble opinion...OH..Vai too!

I don't know, SINCE I HAVE STILL NOT HEARD ULI. Someone was supposed to burn me a CD.

Still, I think the best feel guitar player of all time, and the greatest vibrato, died in a Helicopter crash in Wisconsin.

I thought so...I swear with the reverb...I nailed the intro solo to "End of the world"..I could do that better than Eruption...still!

I mean the sound was spot on!

I have tried to buy Uli records. But even Tower didn't have any in stock.

Man, I never get tired of that song. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a prime example of playing with feel. Soulful playing accompanied by a soulful voice. Fuckin' classic!!!
