they definitely can pull it off live, and it sounds great!

some of the music is meant to sound computery, especially the keyboards (Vadims solo spots are amazing..) + the wacky solos in between the melodic twin ones.

dragonforce also pioneer the beer dispensing mic stand when playing live :P

its not sped up either.. the drummer used to be in Bal Sagoth (super fast theatrical blackish prog metal band.. i think thats how id describe them :P)

I'm glad bands like Dragonforce, Arch Enemy, Biomechanical and COB are showing up on TV screens. It's about damn time this kind of music showed up to people everywhere. It deserves to be appreciated. People with real talent who have been playing for years, building up a reputation, working their arses off. Rather than see fags on X-Factor and PopIdol get all the attention by singing OTHER PEOPLES SONGS and not writing a single song of their own. I'm just as annoyed at the 'rap' music that's played everywhere and anywhere possible. The same old shit over the same old beat singing about how much money they spent on their big houses and cars that look like it should belong in a jewelery shop.

Say what you want, but I thought that was great... I especially liked the beer drinking split screen part. It was a heck of a lot better than the Man O War vid that was posted earlier. Those dudes in Dragon Force seem to be out to have a good time, and they can friggin play! Say what you want, but there is no denying that was entertaining and those guys have talent.

I'm mixed on this. Yes, the playing kills but it sounds like Dream Theater meets Iron Maiden on 78rpm. The video was cool during the solo section..really enjoyed how they produced that, but otherwise, I like to hear things and this is flying by so fast its a blur. (course, Perpetual Burn struck like that when I first listened to it as well but Becker to me was more pure) It would take many listenings just to appreciate everything going on and by then I would likely feel pummelled. Simple structure, rather simple melodies at times it struck me as being Gaelic but also having complex solo/effect things going on. How do they say it in Amadeus? Eh lame wankery...not everyone wanted to learn how to play guitar just to take center stage and solo all day long, solos aren't heavy :P Give me Scott Ians guitar with 15 frets and I'll still be perfectly satisfied...
