    I didn't like it. It did absolutely nothing for me. The guitar tone was horrible IMO, which ruined any chance for me to enjoy the solos. Actually the recording as a whole sounded like it was sped up and over processed.

    I did like it when the Jackson guy was drinking a beer between solos. I found that kinda humorous.

    I'm not an anti shred guy by any means either. I was going to keep my negativity to myself until I saw that I wasn't alone.

        I think it sucked ass, the only thing good about it is that it's so cheesy that it made me laugh specially the part when one of the dudes drinks beer [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

        That being said, the music and songwriting is below avarage, guys can play but c'mon how about some groove and hooks...
        and the lead guitar tone sounded like a tetris game.

          Got both their cds ..their new once is released...waiting to find in stock somewhere..

          Um...did anyone else see alot of hair flippin' and Rudy Sarzo hand jive bs than actual playing...the the music on that vid didn't sync up with any of that..alot of show with no "go"...but it's OK.

          I have to say I was impressed with the Keyboard player...he could swing his hair with the best of 'em! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

          DF is good euro-metal band..one of so many . A little too "upbeat" for my liking..but I still buy and support their shit...so there ya go. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

          I rather listen powermetal metal bands like Brainstorm, Nocturnal Rites, Evergrey, Jag Panzer, Iced Earth and etc..now they can write great hooks ..IMmetalO!

              Maybe I should rephrase my comment and say that I speak for all the metalheads that were gigging in the 80's and appreciate chops from all members of a band.
              Many of the younger generation just doesn't get it. Just like I don't get all the cookie monster vocal sounding pissed off metal bands that are so popular today.
              Back in my day... a singer like the guy in Shadows Fall or COB or Korn etc... wouldn't even have made it past the audition and if a guitarist couldn't shred like Lynch or DeMartini they were considered a rhythm guitarist.
              I miss the day of chops and well written and performed songs even if alot of the magic was created in the studio.
              Bands like Europe, TNT, Y&T, Stryper, Queensryche etc...
              Great musicians, great songs, great videos and great tours.
              I was recently listening to a Nirvana song on the radio and I commented to my bandmate.."How the fuck did this shit kill metal??". I am so happy the Seattle grunge thing was a fad. I knew it would be. These are the things I think about when I see a video like this.
              I can tell you one thing about this band based on this video and this song only. They did alot of rehearsing.

                it's 21th century, chops don't count, it's cool if you can shred but you have to make some great tunes to get some respect.
                and I'm not impressed as far as the those guitar players go, did they sounded anything new, fresh, memoriable? I don't think so. A great player must bring something new to the table.
                Durning the 80's every player had it's own unique style, nowadyas most of the shredders sound all the same.

                  I did see alot of that Rudy Sarzo handjive stuff going on, indeed.

                  Its funny, there are so many different "metal" definitions. So, this is "power metal"? I just call it all metal..but I keep hearing "death metal" "grindcore" "hardcore" "speed metal" "power metal", etc. etc. I don't know WTF half of this shit is, to be honest!!!

                    I'm just GLAD that "shred" is back in the form of music I always loved..always!

                    why this may be NEW to some ..This is VERY old hat for me..this music NEVER went away...just the US fan base did..it all went to Europe and Asia..gained some momentum thru the years and came back better than ever.

                    I NEVER turned my back on metal [img]/images/graemlins/refuse.gif[/img]..especially during the days of "Nu'.."Grunge"..and Ebonica [img]/images/graemlins/bs.gif[/img]!

                    BTW..Alexi..shouldn't be even mentioned in the same sentence with that turd Johnathan Davis and the ilk..because Alexi is one of few REAL metal guys that brought shred back to us... KORN ..they helped kill the art of shred with their brand of retarded bullshit that was spoonfed to the masses in large doeses by MTV and all other media sources..grazed upon by hungry sheep ..Nu/Grunge/ebonica.. all = American processed cheese food!

                    Metal and shredding was awesome..and it still is..

                        I do like the newer metal guitar sound though. Its way more agressive sounding but then again.. I don't know jack about good amp tone.

                          Alexi is an insane player, he would bury half of the 80's hair doo guys in a heartbeat.

                          This band just wasn't very good IMO... Of course, I'm always open to hearing modern bands that are good with ripping guitar playing, so keep the suggestions coming!

                              the leads sounded like they where speeded up digitaly to me-almost like they recorded the whole track at a lower sample rate and then changed it to a higher one on premix before the singer sung over it(the singers voice sounded in the right key)not enough bollock on this track to keep me interested in hearing it again-i would want the guitars more reefed in the mix-Solo wise it was cool but could have fitted better

                                Shredding didn't went away durning the 90's. You are looking for a wrong music fellas. Jazz/fusion/latin etc. were popular all the time. And those guys can kick every today's metal players ass big time. I've seen tons of fusion players who could cut that Alexi's head off who's playing is lame and booring anyway IMO. Not only those players have chops, but they are super precise, they have a great feel and melodic sense. While metal heads practiced scales at home, jazz players shredded like a maniacs in front of big crowds.
