soilwork and machinehead sounded great. (though I think MH usually tune "just" D straight with a drop-C)

A couple of you have mentioned Nevermore....they do indeed play 7-string guitars, but I've heard several say that their live tone is terrible and especially the 7-string songs. Did it sound okay when you saw them? Maybe this varies with the venue.

ps.: we play tuned to Bb as well, and it doesn't get messy at all [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

Carcass - Swansong sounds awesome. I don't remember the exact tuning though...
I remember reading somewhere that they used two different amps for the rhythm tracks and they took only the mid-range from the other on tape.
