As always, Michael Angelo shreds with the best. Randy would be proud!

i dug some of it, and was surprised that the whole thing wasn't a wank fest. tastelessness aside, the guy's got a great picking hand, that's for sure.

Yes, Mike can play. I don't know about the 'taste', I like his playing.

The first part was very well done with throwing in some tasetful appreggios. All in all, the first section(orginal solo section)was very pleasing to the ear.

The extended part, that was entirely appreggios, I didn't care for to much.

I have Mikes, instructional video and he is without a doubt an innovative genius. A very gifted player indeed and I learned some valuble insight/tips when learning and play arppeggios from his video.
I just can't stomach an over saturation of appreggios.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

i'm with ya. to me, this kind of guitar playing is like the roided out freaks you see on the muscle magazines. just because you can doesn't mean you should.

that said, i really did like the way he interpreted the part where randy does hammers and pulls up the E string just before the end portion of the solo; that was a neat way to play it.

these tribute things are stupid anyway. do your own thing. RR accomplished more in 3 years than this Batio guy has in 20 years.

that's all anyone needs to know.

Oh yeah? What's that about? Hadn't heard.

As for RR accomplishing more in three years? I'm a big Randy fan, but I spose that depends on how ya look at it. I've seen both guitarists live and have to say, Angelo smokes Randy in technical skill by far.

Randy was more emotive and tasty I guess, and better at composing I sorta think within the reign of Ozzy I spose. When I saw him live I certainly wasn't "amazed" by any amount. Actually, he was pretty off compared to the CD, and his tone was far from great. I liked it, but I didn't say to myself, this guy is a God, like I did when I saw Malmsteen a couple years afterwards.

I really like how he played the first part of the solo, leading up to the wiggly stuff on the skinny string. It sounds very similar to how Jake used to play that part.

It will be a cold day in hell before I crack on someone like Michael for his playing. The dude could eat me up.
