      First Jason is an excellent player and second he did butcher it [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Having said that I think he was not going for a note for note cover. The backing to Black Star is so lame its hard not to go off and just improvise [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Look how young he is in that video. I have no doubt he could have played it note for note if he wanted to.

      Also saying he butchered it is no dis towards Jason so no reason for JB fans to get their panties in a knot....just as when Yngeiw badly butchered Mr Crowley...

              wow. I consider myself to be very picky about my music/performances and I love that clip of him rocking out in high school, what an amazing talent to play something like that at just 16 on that crap equipment...he really gets into it emotionally and I thought it was played brilliantly even if he is a bit sloppy some places..that's not the point, the point is the emotion! when are people going to recognize this..I don't care if you can replicate the record like a machine! ok, rant over.

                I think that video shows the imaturity of a 16 year old with a boat load of talent!! That said I think he was great even in that video and I would have been floored had I been there to see it. I knew no one with those kinds of skills in 1986 at any of the high schools in my area. The dude is an inspiration both in his playing and the way he fights his disease.

                    I didn't like Yngwie's take on Sails of Charon either..I like James Murphy's version much better!

                                I had a full beard and was getting into clubs without being carded at 14. People get their beards at different ages, it means nothing.
