People don't talk about him much due to the animosity that exists because of the family money he inherited when he turned 18. His grandfather owned Kendall Oil. Mark's trust fund was worth around 100 million. Nobody likes a rich kid who made it big.

That's odd, I have never heard anything like that. I was reading an interview with him today and he mentioned that he grew up in El Monte, Ca. From what I know, El Monte is far from a swanky address. You would think with that kind of family money, he would have grown up in a more affluent section. Also, he mentions that he and Jack went for music 100%, with nothing to fall back on if they failed. I would think 100 mil would be a nice backup plan!! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I wonder if he hides this stuff? Are you sure about this?

look on youtube...theres a few videos on there - maybe u'll get a good shot of his gear...i seem to rember a lot of it being on show in the once bitten twice shy video...awesome player...great white rule...shame the manager needlessly killed several hundred people...

I love Kendall's playing - very bluesy. Check out House of Broken Love...
When I got my first Marshall 3203, a buddy of mine told me that was what Kendall was using back in the day for recording. I met Mark back in 1996, and I asked him that very question. I don't remember what his exact answer was, but I know it WASN'T that he was using the 3203, but I believe he said he was using Marshalls.

Well, in all of the videos I have seen of Great White, and I went back and watched them all again today on Youtube, he has a wall of Marshalls in the back...they look like JCM800s. I figured 800s, but his tone was so FAT and mellow...it isn't a sound I typically associate with 800s. However, I guess it is all in the EQ.

We opened up for Great White last year. Mark didn't bring an amp with him.

Their contract specified that the club would provide (among other things) two JCM 800 half stacks. If I remember right, he used nothing in front of the amp but a wah.

Mark was a great player and the band sounded good, but holy crap their road crew treated us like dog shit.

This is us on stage opening for Great White (my back is turned to the crowd and you can sorta see my Zakk Marshall). If you look closely at the back of the stage you can see a JCM 800 on the far left and the far right. Those are the amps that Mark and the other guy used the night we played with them.

Like I said, their standard booking contract called for the promoter to provide them with two Marshall JCM 800 1/2 stacks. And Mark definitely made that Marshall sound goooooood.

Cool deal. Anyone know what pickups and axe he is using? I can't really make out the red one on the Rock Me video.

Personally, I've been doing good using my Hybrid Jackson Fusion Pro neck / Charvel Fusion Deluxe body, EMG-S and EMG81, with 18 volts.

The EMG-S is clean and sparkley, and the EMG81 works great when you kick it into overdrive.
