Well, in all of the videos I have seen of Great White, and I went back and watched them all again today on Youtube, he has a wall of Marshalls in the back...they look like JCM800s. I figured 800s, but his tone was so FAT and mellow...it isn't a sound I typically associate with 800s. However, I guess it is all in the EQ.

Great to see that he has so many fans here!

I have a JCM800 with 6550's and it has a nice fat tone, i leave the treble down and no presense and get a great tone.

You have to remember alot of people from that time, cranked the treble, cranked the presense and bass and completly cut mids and most used cabs with 75's or EV's. But then you have people like lynch and Kendall that had great tone using close to the same amps, it all comes down to how you eq and speakers. By the way lynch used greenbacks and 30 watt speakers in his cabs.
