    Daniel Mongrain of Martyr with custom warrior

    Hey guys

    just over browsing one of my favourite bands website in anticipation for the new cd, and came across this pic


    this looks like a really cool warrior! very classic looking, anyone have anymore info on this guitar?
    looks like an ash body, but the inlays look really cool too!

    I'm emailing to get bigger pics, I've seen and met these guys so many times, just never seen this! always an old ibanez V or a red warrior! very cool

    also has this custom kelly

        That looks awesome! [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] Where are they from? I can't read a Jackson logo on the headstock and that color/body wood combo looks exactly like the one the guy from Cryptopsy has, which I know is a small builder and not a Jackson, although it has some different body cuts.

                Yes Martyr is from canada
                and Daniel was in cryptopsy for a time!

                    Hmmm... I thought the guy from Cryptopsy with the similar guitar had darker hair, but if it was him, and that is the same guitar, there are some small bevel/cut things on the lower front horn (obscured by his pants in that picture). If so, it was made by a small French Canadian luthier whose name I cant remember. I remember there being a thread about it some months ago, and yes RacerX I tried the search function but since I can't remember the exact date and mispelled Cryptopsy the first time (shame)I couldn't find it since it would probably take several days with the speed of the JCF search.

                      Dan from Martyr played with Cryptopsy the last time I saw them [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] that probably explains that. (he replaced Levasseur for the tour)

                      and yeah, that's not a jackson; it's a Liberatore.

                        Hmmm, well, you don't need the exact date...I used "older than 3 months". Here are the previous threads:

                            Yep it's built by a guy named Mauro Liberatore, I used to have his webpage address, I'll take a look for it...I emailed him for some info, seems like an awesome guy and I talk to Daniel frequently and he is REALLY happy with that guitar...

                            Martyr is pretty much the best band on earth. Period.

                            edit: That Kelly is also a Liberatore, he had that with him when they played Toronto last August! Best show I've ever seen...
