Well, System of a Down is the "non-Ozzy headliner" this year, so that would be the best guess. Guess they'd better not piss off the Wicked Witch of Ozz.

Yet another "Metal Purist"....I don't think you'lll be missed at Ozzfest dude!

I'm only bummed about Otep not getting asked back this year. I'm so fucking in love with Otep Shamaya. A hot blonde, with a knockout body that can put most male deathcore singers to shame (kinda like Angela in her heyday)
But good bill as far as I see it. I'll be there @ the second stage with bells on! Besides....I'll be hanging with my buds Unearth. Yes James...I know those lunatics in Unearth!...LOL!

That is pretty cool. The Oncoming Storm is definitely one the best albums of the last 2-3 years IMO. Much better than average musicianship compared to other metalcore style bands.

Tell the singer his sideburns were ace when they were like a full beard but only covered his cheeks. not his face or throat. Like in the great dividers video. And tell Ken Susi that he can play like a motherfucker (even tho he probably already knows)

The Oncoming Storm is an awesome album, they are very under rated as musicians. I've seen them twice and they kicked ass both times, very energetic live show. Lots of fun. I've never been to Ozzfest, but have seen Ozzy a few times. I've wanted to go, just never works out.

Yeah dude, those guys are from the same town as me. Really I only know Paul and Tommy, the only two who have been in the band the whole time, and I know Will Goodyear who was their original drummer. He's been in a few other bands around the area and much like Tommy is good at every instrument known to man. He filled in on guitar for Hopesfall for a little bit, if you check out their vid for The Bending you can see him playing a nice Les Paul Classic. I saw Tommy earlier this week though, they are in the studio as we speak recording their cover ep.

Hey dude check out the link in this post and tell me if you still think that...Between the Buried and Me have several elements of prog, jazz, fusion, and other styles mixed in with their tech metalcore. At the very least you have to say theyre good at their instruments:

I dont doubt that some of those bands are good instrumentally. Trivium, COB, in flames, those guys are all ripping guitarists too. I still would never go see them live because of the "vocals". JMO, dont take it personally.

Between the Buried and Me is here in a few weeks, in my neck of the woods with August Burns Red and some other bands. I'll probably go...I like Meshugga, and some of the "mathcore" bands that are influenced by them like BTBAM and A life Once Lost I get a kick out of seeing them live.

Yes...I named my son after Trevor (Phipps...the singer) I told him a long while back if I ever had another kid, I'd use his name because I always thought it was cool! Trevor thought that was so cool...he gave my kid a baby Unearth t-shirt and made him an "honorary" member of Unearth.
They are really cool guys, not jackoffs like some of these bands come off as being.

Unearth struck me as being a band that did what they wanted, and that it was coincedence that that thing became popular/fashionable.

I went to the FIRST Ozfest back in '96. Back then it WAS a metal show!! Slayer(pre-Numetalization), Sepultura(WITH Max), NEUROSIS!!! It's been all downhill since then...

                                with these shitty lineups

esp after last year. you don't fuck with Maiden.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
