Ugh ... I had the unfortunate experience of seeing them play live once ... that's all I have to say about that, lol.

                I MUST share some thoughts..

To me Trivium, Unearth and all that stuff is so interchangable..I can't tell one from the other anymore ..

basically these bands sound like a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy..Lamb of God ..who is actually good helped make this popular ..and all they did was steal At The gates and Slayer riffs..like I always did.

But that's OK..it's still beats the unholy shit out of anything remotely "Nu" or "ebonical"..

so, I shouldn't complain..at least kids are playing guitars again and making other kids want to do same..so, that's a good thing....instead of making fart noises in their hands and scratching records instead of making them..

I think Bush had alot to do with this...his daughter is always throwing the horns..he enjoys "rock" himself..you know damn well he's no fan of Rap...He cut the head off of Howard Stern and well shit rolls down hill...taking gansta rap with him.

Now, Look at the Clinton years..it was ebonical from start to finish..he left and took the ebonics with him...Democrats and Ebonics go hand in hand..well because most minorities are Democrat...duh.

Not many Republicans Rappers out there...hmmm..I don't know a single one..

different agendas and mindsets..Is there a connection..I say yes!

If Dems come back into play..they'll bring ebonics back with them..Fred Durst will make a huge comback and Kid Rock will no longer pretend he's a redneck..

I saw this change right here on this board..in early 2002 we weren't talking about bands like Trivium..it was still VERY "Nu" in here..and I banged heads over that BS with countless members..Troy and Matt of Vennt immediately come to mind..remember them..so I guess I won all those arguments..in hindsight

I don't bang heads anymore, it's not even an issue..I didn't change a damn thing..when "nu" died, they jumped ship...and I stayed on!!

Alot of members here loved that Rap and Nu BS when I came here..I got flamed constanly over debating and defending true METAL..I was on a constant rant about it!!

I know some old timers here definitely remember that ..that's how my threads got started..the ones that started those threads were on my team and still are...the same guys and some new friends...metalheads are just loyal...it's a brotherhood!

It's only been a few short years since the scene shifted..There was NO Metal Mania, and Head Bangers ball was ANCIENT history and the likes of Wes Borland graced the cover of GW when I joined here...so enjoy the likes of Trivium now!!!

I dig Trivium over a lot of the newer Metalcore bands. They are more technical, and have a broader musical scope than a lot of the others. It's not just chugging riffs, and blast beats...there's a lot going on.

I don't, however, like their newest album. Seems they are trying to break into the radio-friendly commercial market. There's some "happier" tunes on the record and Matt Heafy sings a bit more on this one than he did on their first album. Doesn't take away from them as a whole though.

But I agree also with the consent of this thread...don't buy a friggin' guitar just because someone popular for the moment uses one. Corey isn't even using his KV anymore. He's playing a Dime ML and Heafy is playing a Razorback.

trivium sound like a number of bands...they are all very interchangeable lately with the exception of lamb of god and mastodon who for me stick out as being very original in their sounds and tonalities. Everything else is just well yeah...i won't really say anymore.....its not my cup of tea i'll say that

Lamb Of God kick ass, but to me they just seem like Slayer and Testament got together and had a baby.
