yeah I've never heard anyone question Yngwie's tone before.

he is always out front and very clear, and I've seen him like 7 times. every time his tone is killer.

he's a perfectionist, think about it.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I was just checking out some old live bootleg videos of Yngwie and was thinking how his sound can be so good on them. I can hear everything clearly which is not the case normally with bootlegs.
On the records I think his sound was at its best in the 80s. I don't like what he has been doing recently production-wise and I must admit the music also has been repeating a lot of the same themes he has done over and over again. But for that style of music there is noone better IMO.
Also another thing worth noticing about his bootlegs - it seems he never has an off-night. He just nails everything every time.

I saw Yngwie during the G3 tour and I wasn't too thrilled with his tone that night. It seemed very shrill. Of course, that could have been the sound guys fault. But on his early records and his instructional video, his tone is amazing... It just sings.

Really, I can't say a bad thing about the guy. He is an amazing guitar player that not only plays very precise, but his vibrato and bending are second to none within the "shred" genre.

I saw Yngwie in februari 06 I believe it was.. awesome show! great tone, great setlist, great playing.. I have no idea who was on keys though..
The cool thing about the show was that is was very long and the interaction with the crowd was good.. and I caught a plectrum

Heh, that's not so tough what with the huge amount that he launches into the crowd at every show!

Man, he must've set some record by now! I bet the pick company LOVES Yngwie!

Yeah , I'm hoping to catch one myself and one for my guitar student. He's 15 and an Yngwie freak but he's too young to get in. This is going to be at a small club that only holds about 350 people. I saw Steve Vai there last year and it was amazing and I fully expect the Yngwie show to be as good or better.

Yes it is, and the bass player's using an Aria Pro II also. Most likely Bonnet signed the band for an endorsement, so Yngwie had to put one on for part of the show. To be fair, Aria Pro II guitars are very playable and their Les Paul copies, both pre-and-post lawsuit, are pretty awesome.

I caught one, too. I also managed to get his set list.

Graham Bonnet looks like James Dean a bit, no?

There's an interesting replica project - Cheap Aria Vee, a couple of single-coils and a scallop job! Has anyone ever done one of those?
