Why do so many good bands now a days use ESP guitars?!??! Does anyone know?! Like Megadeth or Children of Bodom (I know the whole story with Alexi's guitars getting stolen etc.) when they made good music (Something Wild, Hatebreeder, Follow The Reaper) they used Jackson and same goes for Megadeth! Now Bodom makes gay albums that suck ass like "Hate Crew Deathroll" and "Are You Dead Yet" and now Megadeth is making shitty albums too like "The System Has Failed"! Dave Mustaine used to play the awesome "King V" Jacksons and Alexi, Roope, and when Alexander was in COB they all used sweet ass Jacksons! What happened?!?!

Because it's easy as hell to get endorsed...the label that my band is on just got an ESP endorsement, I think my singer might get one when he gets the money together...

        Free guitars=free money.

Here's what happens. When a band is new and starving, they bust ass to create a great recording.

When they get fat and lazy after success, the quality goes downhill. They say "That's good enough, the fans will buy it just because we are us".

The System Has Failed is a great album, plus, you never mentioned anything about how Metallica used ESP's to record Master of Puppets and And Justice for All, also, you seemed to have forgotten how Megadeth also record Cryptic Writings and Risk with Jacksons. Now did those Jacksons make those records suck? Well by your theory, yes.

That's exactly how I feel about COB nowadays. I love first three albums to death, but the rest is pretty much just straight shit.

I believe that Jackson doesn't pay endorsed musicians or give them free guitars. I think they just give them a special discount on the guitars.

Like most all guitar companies. they have the budget, middle of the road, top of the line/premimum and custom shop. ESP isn't any different. Contrary to how strong and certain ones loyality is to his or her preffered guitar company/name. One will find, if they let the loyal mentality go and shop, buy and sample guitars open minded.

Ex.1 I've played a GL strat that resonated, sustained with a very surprising smooth like butter play action that surpassed most Jackson and Charvels. I knew before I ever plugged it in, it was gonna sound incredible just how it felt in my hands, and it did. True craftmanship thats second to none.

Ex.2 One can buy bodies and necks and the necessary hardware and electronics from a reputable online place, anyway you like. Assemble it and will match and in most cases surpass quality and playability of most name brand guitars. Many have built some killer geetars made from warmoth and ebay parts and kits.

With me, loyality doesn't mean squat.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Actually, I think they get one for free from Jackson. I think I recall that being one of the reasons Mustaine left. It went from 12-1 when FMIC bought em and he thought that was BS. Could be wrong though....And ESP has a boatload of money, so they can pay people to play em. They make good stuff too though (the ESP, never liked the LTD stuff as much)

Eh, I think The System Has Failed does suck! Risk also sucked, but Cryptic Writings kicked ass and so did The World Needs A Hero.

And COB's Hate Crew Deathroll is also a great album, IMO.

                          Endorsements?
Not one of us, myself included if approached for an endorsement, most would gladly agree. Why? There are perks to it baby, nice perks.

Someone or some decent name has an interest in you and makes you an endorsement offer. Uh, lets see since I'm not about loyality, you bet baby. Bring me that ESP guitar you want me to play and whatever else you got you want me to sample. What magazine you want me do a photo shoot for for the endorsement deal? No problem.

from a business perspective, I think ESP as company has a far better marketing strategy (= market presence) today.. I'm sure their investment in these endorsement deals pays itself

Soap, from your wording there says NONE of us if approached would agree...thinking your wording is a bit wrong from the rest of your post
Anyway.. I don't understand the endorsement thing one bit..I am lost when it comes to this subject..but IF (which I do) I have 5 perfectly good Jackson guitars, why would I need an ESP?? If I tear one up, I have plenty of time to replace it...because I have 4 more...JMO..as I said, I have never been offered an endorsement, and am confused by how they work. If I choose to play Jacksons, ESP offering me a free guitar isn't going to make me switch.
