    Gear..
Gary Holt - Custom Bernie Rico Jr's (he played the red one the whole night, the black one stayed off to the side), Peavey Triple XXX x 2 (one for backup), 4 Peavey Triple XXX cabs on stage (two for each head). Pedal board had a Boss delay of some sort, another pedal I couldn't see, a wah, and a TS-9 (solo boosts). He stayed on the yellow channel the whole night except for the introduction to No Love.

Lee Altus - Black ESP DV8 (white ESP DV8 off to the side of the stage), Two Peavey Triple XXX's, 4-6 Rackunits, couldn't see his pedalboard.

    Review...
One shitty local opener (generic "metal" band, aka wannabe Pantera / Metallica but just terrible), one good local opener (brutal death metal type band, much more interesting and entertaining to watch and listen to). The touring support Full Blown Chaos SUCKED. Again, they need to keep "hardcore" "metalcore" "whatevercore" out of metal shows and metal tours.

Exodus played a damn good set with a lot of good songs from the early days (check below). Gary Holt moved a ton and really "performed" to the crowd... A true professional. Jack Gibson and Lee Altus more or less just do their thing and do some light headbanging, not much else. Paul Bostaph holds it down nice, couple of parts were a bit rough at times, but nothing huge. Rob Dukes paces the stage glaring at the crowd and tells people to fuck off or shut the fuck up or whatever between songs... Usual "I'm a bad ass" routine that seems out of place and goes away the moment he gets off the stage. Band sounded pretty tight after the second song (once the monitors were set up right). 3 of the members of 3 Inches Of Blood were there (both guitarists, shouting vocalist; the band lives in Tacoma, WA currently) and watching. For Piranha Exodus had Shane from 3 Inches Of Blood come up on stage and use Gary's black Rico Jr and play the song with them. He did the first solo and Altus did the second. Dukes vocals were decent for the half of the Baloff material, but towards the end of the set he was just screaming instead of emulating Baloff. Souza material was all screamed. Turnout was shitty but that's pretty typical of Seattle unless there are like 3 good metal bands on the bill.

    Songs Exodus played...
Bonded By Blood, A Lesson In Violence, Piranha, No Love, Deliver Us To Evil, and Strike Of The Beast from Bonded By Blood

Brain Dead from Pleasures Of The Flesh

Last Act Of Defiance from Fabulous Disaster

Blacklist and War Is My Shepherd from Tempo Of The Damned

Raze, Deathamphetamine, I Am Abomination and 44 Magnum Opus from the new album

That sounds like the same setlist they were playing down here last year.

Damn, that looks like a nice setlist. When they played here last year on the SHKM-tour, about 90% of the songs they playd were from the two latest albums. They only played Bonded By Blood and Another Lesson In Violence from the older albums IIRC. Damn, I'd kill to hear them play No Love live, it's one of my favorite songs.

And you're right about Dukes, he's a badass on stage and really really mellow guy off-stage.

One of my bandmates told me that too. He was sort of pissed because the first 4 songs were the exact same that they played last time they were here (3 from SHKM, 1 from Tempo). And from there they pretty much launched into playing A Lesson In Violence and from there played old school songs until they ended with 44 Magnum Opus, and came back out with Deliver Us To Evil (I think), War Is My Shepherd and then ended the night with Strike Of The Beast (though I was really missing Baloff's vocals for this song). After the finished every member took time to shake everyone's hand that was up front. Jack Gibson then went up to the bar, Rob Dukes hung out around the floor area (after getting something new to drink) and Gary Holt sort of walked around the club and then hung out at the merch booth.

Since I've been on my feet at work a lot with my crappy shoes on lately, I really noticed it last night, sitting down in my car after the show felt so good. I need to get a good pair. When I go to shows I always have to be up front or I just don't enjoy myself... Or I'm more tempted to talk to people / spend money on booze. Sorry to hear you missed the show though.

Ahhh, I been missing alot of shows and alot more I'm sure..my neck and back is screwed..can't endure to stand for more than 1/2 hour..

there is only a few bands/players that can get me out of the house..depending on the venue..

Nevermore and Uli Roth..they are a must see for me..I'll cope for them.

Exodus RULES but they played in a real shithole..so I passed..

Bill, why don't you go to shows in a wheelchair?

There was a guy at the show last night and he had a cane. He kept waving it around in the air, and then standing at the edge of the pit sort of doing some headbanging / moshing..

What happened to the classic lineup that did Tempo Of The Damned?
I have that disc, and while it didn't impress me like past efforts...it was still very cool to see the original classic lineup (minus Paul Baloff)

But now...what it is? Exodus featuring Gary Holt?

Well, Souza joined to help the band out after Baloff died, so that all their work "coming back" would actually produce something. Some sort of dispute happened and he ended up leaving. Rick Hunolt has a family and decided to concentrate on that instead of continuing on with Exodus. Tom Hunting left for medical reasons.

I knew about Tom Hunting...he's got some rare disease that keeps him in and out of the hospital every so often.

I didn't know Souza and Rich Hunolt left. But again...it was still cool to see somewhat of an original lineup back. I heard some of the new stuff from Shovel Headed...don't like it at all. A big disapointment.
