Well lately i've been listening to alot of metal. Bands like Bodom, Iniquity, W.A.S.P etc. As well as some instrumental stuff like Andy timmons, Marcel Coenen and Steve Vai. So something like those guys would be cool. But also some weirder stuff or some unknown guys wouldn't go a miss93 USA Soloist EDS

Anything by Ron Jarzombek--either solo or his bands Watchtower and Spastic Ink
Mattias IA Eklundh--Freak Guitar
Lately, I've been more old-school on a big Uli Jon Roth kick. His best album with the Scorpions, "Virgin Killer", is a masterpiece, but I also love his more ethereal solo work. Not really metal, though.

Michael Orlando - "Sonic Stomp"
Borislav Mitic - "Fantasy"
Matthew Mills - "Neoclassical Rock Guitar"
For a really good, straight-ahead rock record, get Legacy's debut. It's the version of Legacy with Marten Anderson on bass and Jonas Hansson on guitar.
And for something a bit out of left field but still with spots of guitar flash, get Ronni Le Tekro's "Extra Strong String". Ronni's the guitarist for TNT.Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

At NAMM this past January, I saw Johnny Hiland play a couple times. Its Not metal shred but the guy plain rips! So for something a bit different try searching for his name. He got signed to Steve Vai's label.

Thanks for suggestion Evergrey. I've downloaded a few tracks from Recreatiion Day and they sound damn good. I listened to one track and realised that i used to listen to that track all the time a few years ago but i never knew the name of the band haha93 USA Soloist EDS
