I haven't seen that 2nd vid in some time. I forgot he used a LH strat for that. As much as I dig Yngwie's playing, I could never quite get into his songs with lyrics, as I'l always finding myself fastforwarding to the solos.

Oh, here's a live one from '89. Is that Joe Lynn Turner singing in this one? He sounds like he could easily pass for Steve Perry from Journey:

That's the first time I've seen the "I'll see the light tonight" video.

I used to have a VHS tape of a concert from the Marching Out tour. As I remember, the singer was a black guy... Was that not Jeff Scott Soto?

EDIT: I checked Jeff Scott Soto's website, and it said that Mark Boals appeared in the video for "I'll See the Light..."

JSSoto sang on the first two albums, but he isn't black. I think he's got some eastern european in him, he has olive skin.

that video has JSS's vocals and Mark Boals lipsynching. yikes. I have never seen that before either, and I heard that dichotomy right away.

And me, I really only like the stuff with Jeff Scott Soto's vocals. When I saw Malmsteen at the Byrne Arena, Jeff was already gone from the band. I was bummed. But after a few songs, Malmsteen goes up to the mic and says something to the effect of, "Tonight is Jeff Scott Soto's birthday, I hope you don't mind him coming out and singing a few songs for you."
I was thrilled. They pretty much played the entire "Marching Out" disc. It made my night.

So I was (sort of) right... I knew that the guy in the video wasn't the guy who was singing in my old VHS tape...
