Thats the video I was talking about. I didn't realise he was only 16 in it. Definitely worth a repost.

Also notice how he was using the outro to Floods as part of his live solo spot for something like a decade before the song was actually recorded...

Thanks for posting that. You can see Dime loves doing what he is doing, and it totally comes through in his playing. Awesome!

I have just finished watching the whole series of footage. Awesome! Truly a down to earth legend. Why any insane fuckwit would hurt such a guy is completely unfathomable.

              RIP, Brother Dime.

Friggin a, just like a mini Pantera concert. Nice Yngwie cop at the outro of the Cemetary Gates. Great player.. no doubt.

been a dime fan forever, (even fucked up my first jackson doing the cem gates outro), but think i need a history lesson here. in the vid (or actually a couple of those clinic vids) he's saying how dean is coming out with a dime sig guitar. but that is the same time ('93) he got his washburn endorsement. so how did the dean thing fall through and washburn picked it up? on a side note, don't doubt the pentatonic. we've all seen what shawn lane could do with those five notes, and dimebag was another player that brought the most basic of scales to "a new level". RIP dime, getcha pull!!!!!

I'm confused with that as well. First thing, the year could be wrong. It might have been that period just before he was murdered, when he was switching back to Dean. On the other hand he looks younger and thinner than he would have been at the time. So basically, don't have a clue haha.

Not to get off the subject, but i knew Dimebag back in the day. got lessons from him from 85' to 86' at Rainbow Music on Cooper Street in Arlington, Texas. He was the most down to earth guy. On occasion he would ride his bicycle to the music store (with his Dean strapped on his back) to give lessons. I was playing a peavey T-15 (my first guitar, what a piece....) and he would always say "man you got to get you a Dean."
I cried the day that guy gunned him down. That clinic was early 90's. Dime was always real thin till just a while back.

                                Cool vid,..thanks for posting this!

With regard to his Dean endorsement, he was briefly endorsing them during this time period (~'93-94). I remember a Dean ad with him that said "Dime does Dean." This didn't last too long though, and he switched to Washburn.
"Your work is ingenius…it’s quality work….and there are simply too many notes…that’s all, just cut a few, and it’ll be perfect."
