  • Dweezil tabba

Yesterday a good friend of mine (who's just started learning guitar) sends me an email asking me if I ever heard of this Dweezil Zappa song... turns out he wants to learn "Let's Talk About It" which is my fav 80's pop song. It's also my biggest pain in the ass song (along with VH Little Guitars). I have never been able to play that song accurately like Dweezil. Something just never sounds right. I've searched high n' low for tab and never find any. All the Zappa websites I've found are not helpful.
Anyone know how to play it or have tab for it? Help me end this 20-year stumbling block!

It's similar to playing Little Guitars by Van Halen. You use the same technique with your right hand. I used to be able to play it, but man, I haven't listened to that one in ages. I did, however, dust off Confessions not long ago. Duuude check me out, I'm Jeff Beck...

Do the VH picking technique over a D and then a Cadd9 (both first position) for the intro, and then I can't remember the rest. I'll listen to it tomorrow.

I think my biggest block in "Let's Talk About It" is that he recorded a rhythm track throughout the whole song. Makes the riff thicker and I can't reproduce it.
Little Guitars - I got some tab once that said it was E-flat with a dropped D-flat. It doesn't sound like the CD.

Neither are songs I'll ever play live. Now it's become my private little war.
