Sure, those guys can play. But that song way to cheesy to be taken seriously. If I didn't know that Dragonforce was a real band, I would think that the song is some kind of joke.

I like a little "stank" in my music, and that stuff is about as sterile as it gets. I think they either need to listed to some James Brown, or put down their guitars for a while so they have to fight it more when they play.

Listen to that one Yngwie record that came out in 1989 (Rising Force?) right after his car accident. It is a little sloppy for him in spots, and it sounds like he's fighting the guitar a bit. As a result, his playing sounds more soulfull to me.

I here ya Steve..it is "cheese"..you bet..but think about it man..

what metal isn't..I mean really isn't..even Black Sabbath was cheese..if you really think about it.

Look at Ozzy or Dokken and whoever..it's all cheese..seroiusly, give that some thought..

It may not be to your liking, but it's done quite well..the skill level there is thru the roof...I'll be the first one to admit..I can't hang with that!

        not on guitar..bass yeah..

          Yngwie..is the epitome of cheese..he's great ..but he's cheese..vikings,dragons,swords and fury...yes yes..

it's a matter of taste..but the talent is blatant!

To sum it up: the music is amusing and the playing is amazing.

It obvious from their skill level that they never came out of their rooms their entire teenage years. They also never had time to date girls or visit a barber.

If you just throw some harsh vox on that stuff...it's not far removed from COB/Kalmah/Norther and etc..

Not my type of listening but you can't deny to skill is there. I keep thinking about the long haired guitarist who pulls up on his trem bar and lifts the whole guitar in the air.......Ibanez edge trems have a press in bar so he must have converted it to a threaded type.
Damn this is an expensive hobby.....

Alexi Laiho does that same exact thing with his old Jacksons and ESPs now..

The first time I ever seen that move was in the movie "Crossroads" circa 1985..Jack Butler.

BTW.."Cheese" isn't a bad thing..Music should be some sort of "escape"..be it dark, happy, doomy, violence, gore ..whatever your desire..there's a 100+ metal bands that do it just right..

I like it all..as long as the guitars kick ass..

                        Say CHEESE!

From 90's Seattle to numetal, we've all been seeing grim hard rock/metal bands for a couple decades now. Cheese is making a comeback. Actually, "The Annoying Guide to Political Correctness" would call it showmanship. A show offers more than just 4 guys standing and playing their stuff with a serious look. I can see that snooze-rock act at the symphony or check out a Dave Mustaine band.

I have some friends locally that have been "touring" area clubs with 2 other bands. They call themselves 'The Coverband From Hell Tour" People are into it big time. It's obvious that people want to be entertained and hear music at the same time. Part of putting on a show is not taking yourself too seriously and have fun at it. Here's a shot of the 3 bands after a recent outdoor event: http://members.aol.com/saucyjak/pic/cover1.jpg

I like the guitar work, but everything else I can do without, especially the keyboards, what is that all about Jack.

You can never look cool playing keyboards..

It's like trying to look kewl when playing the Tuba..

I loved the guy flipping out on the keyboards. That was a howl.

The way I see it, I can enjoy watching those guitarists play for a long while, just for the virtuosity, but they have to ditch Frank Stallone on speed fronting the band. I mean, the guy still uses a curling iron.
