Oh, shit..I wouldn't even TRY to play "Godless Endeavor"
Oh no, Nick...I will give you the respect you deserve as a guitar player..you are much better than I am. I am listening to it right now and it is beyond even conception for me.
Learn it and post a clip, I would like to hear that...for sure. There is like 50 seconds of unadulterated sweep madness in that song. Fuck that!
I would be happy if I could play that insanity from "Free Will".
I think I could play the "chuga" stuff from GE, and nothing more.
I really like "I am the Dog".

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.
Hey Mike what's up dude..I heard Nick did a pretty damn good job on Someone get me a Doctor...I posted our version on his thread..
OK, I gotta go..I'm loaded with snot..ewwwwww
I'm going to put on Nevermore first cd..it's 11 years old already ..wow
It's still one of my faves..I like all of them tho..I'm also a NM junkie!!
Later dudes..
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.
I've actually got a backing track for "Engines of hate" and I may even have someone to sing it so that will come first as far as nevemore clips.
Final product, My Acid words , and Psalm of Lydia are the others I'm learning. if I can get a BT for This godless Endeavor I will 'try" and I mean 'try" to lay it down . My buddy calls Loomis "the arpeggiator" he links arps together really quickly and adds color notes to them as he plays them. makes it difficult to emulate him exactly, but I'm copping some cool stuff to add to my little arsenal of chops.
The arpeggiator, yeah that is about right...I hear beyyuuuuyyyuuuuluuuyuuuluuuu and I just shake my head, it is almost so liquid that I can't register hearing it, you know? Its not like Yng, where it just screams, "here is a fast arpeggio section, people".
I have heard Nick's VH and he does some serious justice to those tunes...I love to hear everyone's take on classic VH because everyone has an interpretation. Some guys like to nail it just like Ed, and some like to mess with it. I am too lazy to get it perfect, note for note and tonally...so I have fun with it. For me, VH is all about groove.
You can't do that with NM.

I know the solo to "Cold Sweat"...it's prolly not right..but it sounds close enough..

Yeah, I would like to know that one note for note, E. How many pairs of panties has that one managed to remove?!
Mike
It is actually harder to play than you think because of the timing.
Anyway just one pair, and I had to play the whole goddamn song and hum the lyrics too so the chick would understand what's the deal
I wonder If I can get any by blazing Still Of The Night

Just play the riff to "Crying in the Rain", that one is perfect for stripping to...then just slide into "Take Your Whiskey Home".......
