  • Dragonforce--worst trainwreck ever?

You'd think somebody would figure out they got handed the wrong guitar and move up a fret...

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Sometimes it's so loud and you really can't tell. Listen to Ozzy at the US Festival. Jake's guitar was mistuned, and he played the first two songs in the "wrong" key (Over The Mountain was one I remember, I think Flying High Again was the other). I distinctly remember noticing something was WAY off when I first heard that concert on the radio, only for Jake to verify my suspicions in GFTPM (or some other mag, can't remember which one). He mentioned it was so loud, he didn't notice how off he was.
    Just a guitar player...

I have that whole bootleg... It is either 26 or 36 minutes long. They're really sloppy throughout, but the first song they're both out of tune. After the first song the guitarist with the Iceman switches to a different guitar, and after the second song the guitarist with the Saber switches to a different guitar.

At one point as well the backing vocals are really off as well..

I don't know if it was so much a tuning problem as it was with execution on the guy with the Iceman's part. The Asian guy sounded like he was on.

I'm not really into Drangonforce, but I have to give them credit for playing such technically demanding music, especially in a live setting. As I'm sure most of you know, you won't always be perfect live. When you are playing intricate harmonies like that, you CAN'T make a mistake or it will sound like ass. Those guys must rehearse hours every day of the week.

plus, you hear too many people on this board even saying how good they are live that you have to assume that this was an "off" performance.

Dragonforce was a nice change when they first popped up but quickly lost my interest. I have yet to do enough drugs to be able to sit and listen to one of their albums all the way through.

Sounds like someone had their harmonizer set to the wrong key.
Based on the facial expression of said guitarist, he couldn't hear shit.

My bud and bro in law was at the show..I bailed on it..wasn't feeling that great..

I was told they did alot of boo boos..and they sounded much more polished on record..

They still enjoyed the show and said the are great players..especially the asian dude..I don't know his name...and the sound there was good.

That dude uses a harmonizer..John and I played with a dude who often hit the wrong presets..making it sound like total shit.. I always thought it was funny and laughed as he looked in complete panick trying to blame something or someone..I just laughed and yelled.."No, it's you dude"..

Me, the drummer and singer would be laughing during a whole part of a song watching him sweat..NICE!!
