  • Most valuable guitars

The thread about the G. Moore LP got me thinking, what are the most valuable celeb. guitars (guitars that would pull 1 million or more)? Here are a couple I can think of (in no order of value):
SRV's #1 (Jimmie swears he'll never sell it but this is hypothetical anyway)
    VH's "Frankenstrat"
    Billy Gibbons' "Pearly Gates"
Gilmour's Strat #1 (supposedly the first Strat made)
    Page's LP and the doubleneck
I know there are a lot of Yngwie bashers here but I think his #1 (the Duck) could pull some big money

What are some others that would go for big $$$?

    Pearly is definetly #1

I would think Hendrix's main strat would fetch the most, no? Or did he burn it?

Gilmour's #1. That thing would go for MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars, considering the insanely wealthy Stratworshippers out there and the equally large group of insanely rich Floyd fans. Eventhough it wasn't really the 1st strat ever made, that serialnumber and the history + the player wielding it, would make it priceless.

Not celeb guitars per se, but the things Les Paul has hanging in his house would fetch ungodly amounts of money as well.

Clapton's 'Blackie' went for $1,000,000 at that charity auction.

          Let's see.

Clapton's Blackie, which I think pulled in over a million at auction
Obviously Eddie's Frankie, 5150 and Shark would pull big cash.
          Neil Young's repainted goldtop
          Beck's Oxblood LP
          Pearly Gates
          Page's LP
          Slash's Max LP
          Vai's Green Meanie
          George Harrison's "Rocky"
          Nugent's #1 Byrdland
SRV's #1, Lenny, Scotch, Charlie and his cutom Erlewhine
          Clapton's "Fool" SG
          BB King's original "Lucille"
Hendrix Woodstock Strat (at the Seattle Experiene Music Museum)

          Mike
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Blackie went a little bit less than a mil

btw. I've read what serious collectors say and talked to some of them and well most of them say that Pearly is the most valuable guitar on earth

Ah yes, Mike, Harrison's Rocky and his Violin Bass would be top contenders, probably going head to head with the Hendrix strat.

                Yeah, Endrik.

He bought that thing with $450, he got from his girlfriend, from an old farmer, who had it under his bed!

Just a thought, where those guys keep their guitars?

Gilmour doesn't bring out his numero uno, Billy doesn't use his Pearly live anymore and so on. Even John Sykes was scared to gig with his '59 because maybe somone will steal it.

Ah, I didn't think of "Lucille" or the Woodstock Strat (but that's why I like these threads, you get input/info./opinions that you might not think of).
Most of those are right on but I have to disagree with the Green Meenie. I love Vai but that wouldn't come close to pulling 1 mil, I would be surprised if it went for 100K. BTW what is Harrison's "Rocky", does anyone have a pic?

Red Special is the guitar I want to try out the most

Cool, thanks! When I look at a Strat like that with the worn paint on the back and the dings, it makes me want to get a Strat and just play the shit out of it.

No, I don't think the Green Meanie would pull nearly 1 million.

                              How about some more?

Randy's LPC, polka dot and original Jackson
                              Gene Simmons' Axe bass
                              Frampton Triple PU LPC
Elvis Acoustic with the leather cover/pg deal
                              Keith Richards' #1 Tele
                              Jerry Garcia's custom "thing"
Hetfield's "Kill Bon Jovi" ESP Explorer
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.
