"Nope, I heard tonight that Robert Johnson's Gibby is up for auction. Opening bid is 6 million..OPENING BID."
We took a good look at that on the Hamer board, on the website that the auction house set up...looking at the wear and the (lack of) any kind of documentation or proof that it was indeed Robert Johnson's guitar, we all came to a pretty easy conclusion that the guitar they're auctioning off isn't the one Robert Johnson played. I really hope some poor fool doesnt buy it!
A little off topic but about a year ago some guy figured out a Marshall head he bought used 30 years ago was Jimi Hendrix's originally. He put it up for auction on ebay, then pulled it off because I think Marshall wanted to take a look at it and authenticate it. Does anybody know if it eventually did get auctioned and for how much?
paul kossoffs lp and not forgetting claptons black currently being the official highest selling guitar atm, dimebags lighting bolt dean from hell must be worth a fuckin mint as well

I'm guessing Jim Marshall bought the head off the guy for a hefty amount and used that head as the basis of the new Marshall Jimi Hendrix signature amp.

> Has anyone else thought about Page's red Gibson EDS 612 doubleneck? This was the song Stairway was written and performed on. What about the white one Joe Walsh or Don Felder played on Hotel California? Dweezil has the Strat that Jimi burned at Monterrey, given to him by his dad who got it straight from Jimi. Isn't Pearly the lowest serial number '59,or is there something else special about it,other than being part of that era? Page has several '58-59 models, Eddie does too, along with supposedly one of the nicest original Korina V's in existance. Joe Walsh is also said to have a collection that rivals Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick. Yngwie said in one of his first interviews here that he had around 40 original Strats. As far as Lucille, the real deal Lucille is still around, but is NOT the black ES-355 he is associated with. The original Lucille was a Gibson acoustic he ran back into a burning club after. Back in 1949,dance halls like the one in Twist,Arkansas where this happened were often heated and somewhat lit by a half full barrel of kerosene,2 drunk guys got in a fight and knocked the barrel over. 2 people were killed, and the next day B.B. was told that the fight started over a woman named Lucille. He decide that even though he had not even met the woman, that he would name his guitar, and every one that he would own after, after her to remind him that no guitar is worth running back into a burning building over. He may have a little piece of it, but that is all. Jimi smashed that guitar after he burned it and threw the pieces into the crowd. A part of the body is at the Experience Music Museum in Seattle, I saw it with my own eyes 2 weeks ago....as well as the video of him "sacrificing" it.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.
Fucking Kickass if you are a guitar player. You can see some really amazing stuff there. Besides the Hendrix exhibit, which has his Woodstock Strat, broken axes (like the Monterey Pop and others), outfits, master tapes, handwritten lyrics, letters, etc....they also have Clapton's Brownie, Robbie Robertson's "Last Waltz" Strat, which he bronzed and put a Wonderbar on!!, a real EVH striped Kramer, Queensryche axes, Heart Axes..priceless vintage stuff....poster art, etc. It is just a great museum. Kind of a shame to see all of this stuff not being used...but at least it is not rotting at some fucking Burger Joint on the wall.
