Hey, if you have the original Transformers movie his old band Lion does the metal version of the Transformers theme and he slayes that solo! Shit, I baught the soundtrack to th movie just because of that.

I think he has 3 solo albums out which would be the best to get. I've just been turned on to his playing since watching the Dio H.D. DVD and the Whitesnake DVD, both are awesome.

I bought the Whitesnake: Live in the Still of the Night DVD yesterday and it was some of the best live classic rock performance I've seen in years..
And Doug Aldrich is absolutely incredible!
I never thought another guitarplayer could make Reb Beach stand in the shadows.. Well that night Doug did.. And he was playing a Les Paul.. Holy crap I'm still in awe..!

First time I saw him was probably 87-ish on the "Powerlove" video when he was in Lion. He was playing a white 2-hum Soloist. My favorite guitar to this day!

Check him out in Burning Rain too. Tasty stuff. The singer from Lion was in that band as well, along with Ian Mayo & Jackie Ramos of Hericane Alice/Bangalore Choir.

He is the reason I had my 2 HB reverse headstock white soloist
Hated the lyrics on the Lion stuff, but Dougs solos were a geat mix of melody and chops

His tone and playing on the Whitesnake DVD are incredible. Ultimate LP goodness.

yep, the WS stuff is good. But he is really smokin on the Evil Or Divine DVD. I have not found the Holy Diver DVD yet at any store near me but I am wanting to. I believe he was filling in for Craig Goldy during that part of the tour. Kind of "on loan" from Coverdale. Goldy had supposedly hurt his arm, but rumors persist he fell off the wagon.

I have two of the Bad Moon Rising cds. That was one of his bands after Lion, featuring the same singer Kal Swan. It's great stuff and the solos rip.

About the "still of the night" dvd.....I agree, Doug is great,,,but Reb Beach only stands in his shadow cuz his hands are tied as mostly a rhythm guitarist in Whitesnake. I found that frustrating to watch, cuz I have always loved Reb's playing.......and he makes my hair stand up with his crazy, technical playing in Winger,,,,,,,but the Whitesnake gig must pay well enough to sell out. Crank those solos to seventeen, loosen up, baptised by fire, blind revolution mad,,,,etc...you know what I'm talking about. The way he taps is simply amazing, unique, fluid. And he always plays riffs that have complicated timings. Reb still rules...he has just been a hired back up gun lately...with whitesnake and Alice cooper. I seen him live with Alice,,,and I left early......boring. I hope Reb can play in a band where he can play his ass off again.

I thought he was a great fit with Dokken....
Wonder if he is ripping it up on the new Winger tour?

Dammit...that's what I meant. Burning Rain was a different singer. I have some of the BMR stuff too.
