I wasn't being sarcastic. Thats really good organic heavy guitar tone. You can really hear the Gibson in it too!
I haven't used the V-Wah in any of my shows yet because I have been using the Vetta.
Once my Stiletto comes back from being modded and my 1987x arrives I will put it though the paces. I mainly use it now for the Univibe.
Uni-Vibe is absolutely my favorite effect.
I liked his tone on the New Jersey album A LOT, one of the best midrange chunky-crunch tones I've ever heard, specially on the song Lay Your Hands On Me.
But it's like with Whitesnake '87 tone, you can't replicate that with modern recording equipment. You need vintage preamps & boards and a good old 2" inch tape recorder where all the natural distortion and warmth comes from.
and of corse, screw the CDs, you have to listen the old stuff from the LPs, that's how you get all the warmth and vibe of the record

actually, i've got to admit that i really like bon jovi in general. definitely one of the better pop/rock bands out there....slippery when wet is a hell of an album
I saw the "Bounce" tour... in dallas he added some solo's to most of those songs. he really has alot better chops than people think.
Ok then, put them on the freakin CD then. Screw this weak ass, no lead playin, be just like everyone else crap that passes for music in this country now shit. When Priest released their last album there were lead breaks and people loved it! Same with Maiden. Bon Jovi is a band that knows how to do this stuff. I can just see the state of things in the studio..."Ritchie, the producer and I decided that we didn't want any lead breaks for this new album, please give us your balls, we will put them in the freezer until the tour. By the way, you need to tune your guitar down to the same pitch as AFI...K?"

I think I recall he used DSL 2000's back then.. really liked them too.
They get paid the same no matter how many guitar solos they put on a record or in a show as long as it sells and chicks show up. Personally.. I'd prefer a tour without cuttin heads all the time... the solo fits the vibe of the song... simple two note stop riffs.. you do recall Ain't Talkin 'bout Love being about the same vein?
The new Tool is hardly what I would call solo filled shred.. yet, the structure, timing, syncopation and dynamics of the riffs being played make it very interesting listening.
