Nope..surely he's not..just a stock 2210 WILL give you Chriss' tone in spades..

I know, owned two full stacks..no stomps in the front..nada, zip , zero..

They had plenty enough distortion already, that's why I liked those heads..they didn't require a $30 stomp to get your tone..all amp!

If you can't get a perfect Savatge sound out of a 2210..you have NO right to touch an amp!

                        is that specific enough??

K cheers man, i can get a similar tone with my jmp-1 rack rig, but it doesnt have the sizzle that chris got. I guess i will have to keep practicing.

                          http://www.geocities.com/savarequiem/gear.htm

check the site he used 2 boss overdrives boosting his amp.

owned, i guess $30 pedals are good for something.

My JMP-1 does much better than both my 2210s I traded in for it in 1996..it nails Criss' tone to the Cross..with my Marshall 9200w/5881s..awesome Oliva tone..thes best I've ever heard.

My friend John does Criss better than my VH dude did VH..John could front Savatage today!!

Yeah SD-1, OD-1, DS-1 TS9s, Metal Zone, Korg Hyper Dostions, all peachy..but if you can do without them..all the better IMO!!

I like it ALL amp..I own a Uberschall ..it doesn't need a stomp. Except for my 535Q which sounds great with it.

You want the presets I use for Oliva tone with the JMP-1..here it is!!

OD2 channel with bass shift OFF..I use a BBE 422 in the loop to pump the low end at tad.

                            Volume 20 / Gain 20 / Bass +6 / Mid -3 / Treble +6 / Presence +6..

I use my Marshall JFX-1 for slapback delay only..

into Four Marshall 1960B cabs loaded with Celestion 75's..

                            That's it..instant Savatage!!
