I love Tool but I haven't the slightest clue about what gear they use except that the bass player plays a Wal and the guitar player plays a Les Paul (I think?).

Not a big tool fan myself but Adam Jones uses

Actually, his main sound is the same in the studio and live, a blend of three half-stack, a recto, a modded marshall bass head, and the deizel. Sounds like a jb in the bridge of his custom.

One of my favorites for last several years and love their Albums.
Great Live band too.Have some boot videos from recent tour.
Adam Jones is the man.

Its funny that Adam himself confesses that he doesn't feel that he's that good of a player, but If youve seen them live, you know he's just comparing himself to the all-time greats, TOOL is bigger than god. One of the few bands to create and continue a signature sound.

saw them live this summer and he was using three amps (a recto, a modded marshall bass head, and the diezel like said before)
