Not sure what your deal is, but if I was doing what you WRONGLY suggested, I'd have the balls to say it. I can't believe the X-Files element here sometimes. Believe it or not, there are people that work at Jackson that not only play the guitars, but actually listen to bands with people that play them too. I'm simply trying to put together a "photo album" of sorts with the artists (present & past) for a presentation I'm making.

You bummed me out man. Posts like this, and the following believers, are the reason I rarely post on the JCF. I waste too much time defending myself.

Thanks to all that took time to post the pictures & help me out. You guys rule!

Why the heck are you guys helping the guy at Jackson gather pictures of all the artist guitars? Did it not occur to you folks that you are building the picture database for guitars that they probably won't be willing to build you anymore? At least make him do his own research on the guitars.

THANK YOU! Jesus, I'm sitting here digging all of these classic pictures and it's like the Volkswagon commercial, I get broadsided with a far fetched conspiracy theory about how I'm determined to cancel every custom that resembles a guitar one of the 100's of people played in the past 20+ years.

Interesting that someone who really "could give 2 fucks" consistently feels the need to point out (...assumed/possibly wrong...) negative intentions from a company and product that they have no intention of ever buying. In huge, red print, no less.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this thread DID exist before and it's since been deleted.

The fact is that another forum member did not start the thread. I found the timing of all this to be very convenient.

But if it was started by another forum member it would depend on who started it to know how nefarious the intentions were.

Clearly if it was Toejam the motivation would have to be questioned because he would likely just be trying to steal ideas for his next moob tattoo.

If it was Billz I think I'd have to raise my eyebrows just because I always raise my eyebrows when he posts.

If Chucksplatter started it someone would undoubtedly accuse him of being angry at Jackson.

If LesPaulCustom started it I would assume that the images would be used to torture detainees in Guantanamo - "...talk or we're going to show you more hair metal guitar players in women's clothes...don't make me bring out the Vinnie Vincent picture again"

Let me say this - for what it's worth. The Jake E Lee orders should never have been written in the first place. You can't order a guitar (from a legitimate company) that is synonymous with an artist and use an around-the-bush reference to his catalog (Bark At The Moon, for example) without a signed agreement. It's the legal nature of the business we're in. I have made several attempts/offers to Jake and he never replied. The problem was that you were TOLD you could order it and subsequently ordered one - but it was on the sly & unauthorized. Once management saw it, they had to cancel it. We really had no choice and if you can't understand why - put yourself in the artists shoes. I'll tell you, as I told Jake, I'd be the first in line for a Jake E. Lee Charvel.

If this is the nature of threads on the JCF, please count me out. I come here because you guys are the gurus & I have respect for your loyalty to the brand. I just can't justify coming here if I'm going to get blasted by unsubstantiated theories. I believe I deserve the benefit of the doubt. Is the respect NOT mutual here?

Well a lot of us are bummed out too man. I won't dwell on the laundry list - I'll just explain what motivated my post. There has been a growing list of can'ts and won'ts recently from the place that says they will create the "guitar of your dreams". Individual guitars and runs got canceled and/or rejected because they were deemed "too close". Things like VVVs no longer being offered (and we've all seen VVVs that were shipped not that long ago). Maybe this stuff is all matter of fact and "just business" to you and maybe it's even old news to you because you're around it all the time. But a lot of us are just getting wind of these changes within the last couple weeks or so. And to a lot of us, these artist guitars are what draw us to the brand and would like to be able to order guitars just like them. So then in the midst of all these new restrictions being surfaced to us you come up here and ask for artist pictures - you have to admit it is not an unreasonable thing to conclude that you were searching for pictures to make sure you don't build anything "too close".
