Dio making bank with music equip rental company?

Someone told me that a while back after a successful album or something that Dio put the money into a company to rent out sound equipment for tours or something and now its huge and he makes more money on that than he does on music these days. Any truth to this? I saw an interview with him and would believe, seems like a pretty sharp guy.

RJD has been in the business a long time..he was making hits as a Doo Wop crooner in the late 50s and 60s.. someone even had a couple of B&W pics of him from those days around a couple of years ago.
He's an extremely smart businessman. VERY intelligent.

Dio is from right outside of Syracuse (I think Auburn, not sure)...If you find any of the old "Sound of Syracuse"-type albums, he was in a band called "Ronnie James Dio and the Redcaps"...Like said above, it is really a doo-whoop-type band..Weird stuff! They named a street after him in Auburn..."Dio Way". (Say it, it is a cool name, lol)
