Ronnie Letekro

Anyone who has heard TNT or Ronnie play knows that he has technique that I can best describe as Macine gun like.

Any of you know how to do this or what he is doing? It sounds kinda like the Brad gillis thing, but the bar isn't used.

it's all in his right hand...he double and triple picks almost everything...scary player...the effect you're talking about tho?...which song is it in? sapphire? i'm really familiar with his playing...let me know...d.m.

Hi Rick & DM!

Ronnie is one of my favorite guitar players - doesn't he use that technique in the latter part of the "10,000 Lovers" solo? I know there's another song he does it on, and I think it's on the "knights" album - the guitar solo song just before "Child's Play" - I can't remember the name of it though.

CDs are heading to the post office today, by the way. Hope you guys like 'em!

He definately uses it in Listen To your heart, from Tell No Tales, and I THINK there's a small bit of it in Seaven Seas,And He uses it in Deadly Metal also.

Wouldn't double and triple picking be just like Tremolo picking? This sounds a lot different than that. It's kinda warbly sounding.

the solo in 10,000 lovers is the effect i'm thinking of...it's doubletracked with a really heavy tremomo picking technique...hence the warbly sound...it's all over sapphire which is the gutar solo before child's play...i used to be able to play like that...your right hand pretty much becomes a blur when doing it, kinda like an epileptic fit of the right hand... [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] , had most of tell no tales and intuition figured out at one time, haven't played that stuff in years...but, it's not an effect, he actually plays that way...d.m.
chris, i know i'll enjoy dangerous attraction...i used to own the tape, always loved aldrich's solo in powerlove...

Wow! I thought I was the only one who had heard about Ronny Le Tekrø [img]graemlins/notworthy.gif[/img] I must say that he is a really great guitarist. Hopfully I'll see him live sometime.

By the way, does anybody remember a Guitar World-magazine from about ten years ago, where Le Tekrø spoke about that Fender (I think) was going to build him a guitar with 42 (or was it 44) frets. Does anybody know if this guitar ever was built?

Ronni's pretty unique in his machine
gun blur technique. Petrucci reminds
me more of Steve Morse though - another blindingly fast chromatic loving guitarist!

I've got some of their videos from back in the day. Just watching Ronnie mimic the solos is impressive! I've got a disc with some live tunes on it too and he's every bit the live guitar player that he is a stufio guitar player. I also have his side project he did with Morty Black - I'm forgetting the name of it - but if you like Ronnie DON'T BUY THIS!! It's NOTHING like TNT's stuff. I think it's called VAGABOUND or something like that. It was very disappointing.

I think Kramer was going to make the production quarter-stepper though - NOT Fender. There was a website up that had his gear on it, but I've lost track of it. I know he had a signature model from ESP, but I think it was only on the Japanese market (like a TON of cool guitars that never see the light of day in the States), and on the last TNT tour in the mid 90's, he was using 5150's, but they were rented I guess.
