Iommi owns the name, not Sharon or Ozzy. This will be an awesome show if it all works out. I will go when they come near.

The only reason given so far is "legal reasons",but really,people.Who cares.. Does it really matter what name they tour under???????

Tony owns the name Sabbath but because of a legal injunction (from Sharon) he's barred from using the name unless it's the original line up. Yeah, I know, bullshit.

Whatever man, to see Tony with Dio would be a dream come true for me.

I'm gonna see this, I don't wanna start a flame war or anything but I will say this much:
I saw Dio last December with Doug Aldrich and it was every bit as good as on the excellent Evil or Divine DVD, and I ALSO went to see Black Sabbath with Ozzy in July '05, and it was just awesome to hear Ozzy with them and watch the god-like stage presence of Tony, but at the same time I think it would be an even better quality show with Ronnie. His voice is just PERFECT, and the man is 64 years old!!

Sabbath tour sounds good, but if true Sharon blocked Iommi from using
the Sabbath name - that's deceitful to the MAX!!

Dio era Sabbath has always been my favorite. Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell are my 2 favorite Sabbath albums ever.

I think it will hurt their attendance & receipts big time. Casual fans will not know who the hell it is by the name, and I bet Sharon & her minions will be watching like hawks for any mention of any connection to Sabbath in the ads. Where I live, concerts get cancelled or moved to smaller venues when advance ticket sales are weak. I bet I won't get to see this tour as a result.

Where did you guys hear about this? The only thing I could find was on the Dio site, where he said there were no plans to rejoin Black Sabbath...

Would like to know more about this as well. Last time I saw Dio w/ Sabbath was the Dehumanizer tour. Glad I saw it when I did as I never figured it would be the last time to see Sabbath with Ronnie at the helm. Would love to see themk again. Sharon is the devil....

I read a few years ago that Tommy had to borrow money from Ozzy to pay for his divorce at the time and Ozzy/Sharon went to court when Tommy did not repay. I can assume that part of the settlement included use of the Sabbath name exclusively for the Ozzy version
