  • Metallica Proshot Video...

In case you haven't ran across this:

From 08/15/06 in Korea. Great audio and video.

HUGE download. Resulting avi file is 1.36GB.

I'm wanting to convert this to DVD.

Just did the transcode from avi to a VIDEO_TS file with Nero, then burned to DVD. Just checked it out on my 46" screen in my home theater. Looks good!

I did have to compress it to fit on a single layer DVD+R as I don't have any DL discs on hand......that cut the quality a bit, but it still looks really nice.

Also, it transcoded anamorphically! Cool! Off to watch some of this, then off to bed.

I may have to author in chapters at some point as it's just one giant title right now.

I didn't notice it before, but there are other bootleg Metallica concert downloads on that site. I've got 07/12/92 from Holland downloading right now!

It's coming up as an .rar file. How do you recode it for avi? I downloaded it but can't open it, and I can't figure it out with my version of Nero 6 that came with my burner.

You have to use a product like WinRAR to uncompress it. The avi file is inside... fantastic quality too!
            It's like a zip file.

Damn... That is a very well produced/good quality video. I would kill for a the HD version of this. Given the bug at the upper right hand corner of the video, it's obviously one exists.

Can someone send me the avi, iso or video ts file to my Hotmail account? [email protected] I downloaded WinRAR and it's still not working right, so I just deleted that crap right off my system.

Sorry bro hotmail isn't gonna allow an attachment that big. If it didn't open with winrar chances are your download got screwed up somehow.

You need to download both files (part1 and part2). It's a multi-part download.
The file won't extract if you only have one of them.

I know, I dowloaded both at first, then couldn't open them because I didn't have the WinRAR. So I deleted them, then downloaded WinRAR, downloaded both files again, but they downloaded so quick and not fully, then I re-downloaded them again and was still having a problem with them and the WinRAR. I am half-computer retarded, so maybe that's my problem. Will AOL be able to accept an attachment that big? [email protected] Or try [email protected]

Toejam: Just download the two Metallica rar files into an otherwise empty folder on your computer. Then open WinRar, go to File -> Open Archive, find Metallica file #1, select it, and go through the screen prompts. Watch for where WinRar will place the completed file. Then you should be good to go. I view the file with VLC Media Player.
