I managed to brave the ****e road conditions and made it to the Into Eternity/Kataklysm/Dying Fetus concert tonight in Denver, I jus tgot back actually, very good show...some PA problems..(microphone squeeling) I highly suggest everyone take a listen to some Into Eternity, both guitarists were extremely proficient...Kinda reminded me of maybe Shadow's Fall..with more of apower metal and death growl vocals. I dont' know, I was digging them. but onto Kataklysm
They kicked ass...the guitarist was playing a Hamer double-cut looking doobie job. His tone was brutal to say the least. All I could really tell is that he was indeed using a (drum roll please....) 5150! yup, just like every other death metal band. Every band used the same cabinets (randall cabs) And I'm sure he didnt' have any pedals either. None were in my plain of vision...the bass player had some boss pedals.
They put on a great show...even if the pa was being gay...I was right agains the stage the whole time...but they were *****ing about it. I was hearing most everything straight from the gear anyway though. Dying Fetus was good too...I am weary of teh death/grind style bands. But they were good, nice riffs...I enjoyed them.
I just remember someone querying about Kataklysm's sound. And well, now you know sirs. it's 5150...at least, live it is. His pickups I'm pretty sure were seymour Duncans...they were black and white. I'm not up in my knowledge of duncan pickups though...I couldnt' tell waht they were. hope this helped a bit.
