I might just have to get it. The instrument work sounds great.. I could go either way on Kip's vocals.

I know this is slightly oxymoronic, but I'd really like the band Winger without Kip Winger, haha!

Somehow if you take away the echoes, delays and cheesiness of the 80's I always think the end result reminds me of King's X in some way, don't ask me why though..

This album has been on internet for a while and sounds like left over from the last album "Pull".
I like other Winger's albums better.

Dude, I know what you talkin' 'bout.

Winger has always been a top-notch prog/fusion band, and they are all huge fans of prog and fusion including King's X.

Reb Beach was a monster fusion guitar player just listen to his fusion demos.
Rod Morgenstein is one of the best drummers ever, huge name in prog world, dude has played with Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse bands, Jordan Rudess etc.

But hair metal was cool, so they wrote songs in that style.

Reb Beach gets major respect from me, the guy's unique. Monster shredder, and like you said Endrik also a great fusion guitar-player, his talents go far beyond playing guitar because he thinks it's cool.. This guy LOVES playing his guitar(s)

+1. Reb Beach is cool. I can't really say the same about Winger, though. They were okay, but just the same old cliched crap at the end of the '80s.

I think Winger had a very distinctive sound and was different from the other hairbands. Eastern sounding keyboards, Rod's polyrhythms, Reb's insane riffs etc. Very different from Ratt, Dokken or Warrant, Poison, Bon Jovi or whatever. The only hairband I can think of right now, who tried to bring prog vibe in their music besides Winger was TNT.

Ronnie Le Tekro is a crazy genious if you ask me.. Very eccentric, but when it comes down to shredding he's a mean machine!
If I can ever pull off "Sapphire" as good as he did I just might begin to concider myself a fairly good shredder
