Funny thing is, I was looking at an Enuff Z'Nuff bio page recently on the net and it listed Elvis Costello as being one of Donnie Vie and Chip Z'Nuff's main influences!

Another funny anecdote I just remembered from the interview:
He described the perfect cover project he'd dream of doing -
basically him playing drums for AC/DC with Bon Scott on vocals! He couldn't think of anything more awesome and Phil Rudd-style drumming was just about perfect for his level of proficiency!

Thanks for this. Paul is one of my favorites. I would love if you could post the interview when you have it all worked up.

        He's one of the best.

        J.

Thanks a lot for writing that up! My wife's not a guitarist and she really enjoys Paul's sense of humor in his REH videos and on his website.

Now I really gotta track down Paul's latest disc...

That's awesome man, Paul Gilbert seems to be a really cool, down to earth kind of guy.

Could you by any chance post the interview somewhere for us to read?

The interview is actually intended for our subscribers - however, after the magazine has been published and sent out to them, I'll post a version of it in here. This should be in about a month or so. At the moment the interview hasn't been transcribed anyway. I'll probably post a new thread for the interview when the time comes.

PG is awesome - easily my favourite guitarist. Found this today:-

                    F**king awesome. What a player

There's a google vid of him describing & demonstrating favourite licks from the new album as well - the Echo Song. Oof - gotta get me a Boss delay!

Saw him do a clinic a while ago - why do I carry on trying to play? I got a vid of "Superheroes" & picked my jaw up after seeing him try to remember, practise slowly two times, then hit, note-for-note at top speed, the intro to Colorado Bulldog. Inspirational & ego-crushing all at once.

Looking forward to seeing the interview - don't forget to post it, now!

Like other people say, he seems a great, down to earth guy, even though he's so technically gifted. His website is funny as f**k. I usually judge people on the "I'd have a beer with him" criterion. In this case, I'd actually buy the beer as well.
