Does Goldy still play that white Warlock?

Never saw Goldy live, but saw the guy that replaced him Rowan Robertson and was disappointed. Saw Dio with Sabbath a year later and that rocked! RJD is timeless. Hell that should be Ronnie next album title, "TIMELESS"

weird that aldrich played bluesy stuff during Dio's set, because in Whitesnake his solo stuff is shred ahead. considering that Dio being more the metal of the two.

Craig's a good player, but has always seemed rather bland to me, from the time he was in Giuffria until today. I can't knock his chops but his playing just doesn't appeal to me.
        Ron is the MAN!!!!

A point I realized is on Sabbath's first album when Iommi launches into that blues stuff out of nowhere on one of the last couple tracks. I think it fits there, too. That said, I probably prefer Goldie anyway.

Saw the Magicka tour with John..

Yngwie opened, no disrespect to him..but I was bored to death, except when Jorn got 15 minutes of stage time..YJM shoots his entire wad in about ten minutes..for me anyways..and for most of the people there that night..

When Goldy took his solo the place went fuggin' nuts..to me Goldy did in five minutes what Yngwie couldn't do in an hour..by the reaction of the crowd..I wasn't alone in my enthusiasm..

Goldy is awesome..his tone, his feel ..even his look screams "metal"..

            Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

I always thought the same thing Rich...I discovered Goldy much later than that..I wrote him off when he was with Giuffria too, I never gave his playing much thought at that time!!!

You gotta see him with Dio live man..

I did see him live, at Irvine Meadows with Accept opening, back in the late 80s. Ronnie's voice is of course the gold standard, but frankly Accept did the better show as far as energy and performance.

Of course that was 20 years ago, I'm sure Craig has improved, but I DID see him in Dio live, and the most exciting thing was that he shot the dragon with a laser beam that came from his guitar!

Goldy was with Dio around ´99, right? I caught a concert somewhere around that time, and if that was Craig he put on a great show.

goldy looks like a titan when he stands next to RJD
                      1+2 = McGuirk, 2+4 = She's hot, 6-4 = Happy McGuirk

You were dissapointed in Rowan? Rowan is my favorite of the Dio guitarists. Check out that solo in Walk On Water!
