I have a VHS of the Live in Japan '85 and he is tearing it up in that!
I have that one too, as well as the 89 Leningrad vid. I like the 85 vid better, you get Jeff Scot Soto and Alcatrazz songs on that one. shit I've had that since like 1986.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I saw him open for AC/DC in 85. I had never heard of him before the show but came away impressed with his complete technical mastery of the instrument. The theatrics were impressive as well, he seemed to catch the guitar, single handed, sliding to a positon in key and continue playing, all perfectly in time.

I have this on VHS as well...yep...shot in Japan.

I saw Yngwie in 1984 or 85 in Detroit and Marching Out wasnt released yet...same set as this one. Hearing the Rising Force album for the first time was cool.....seeing him perform those songs so effortlessly live in small venue (St. Andrews Hall) at insane volume levels all while running around like a man possesed was kick-ass

Not sure about the Live in Len. Ebay would probally be your best bet for the `84 live in Japan Alcatrazz. I found both the`84 and`85 Live in Japan concerts on VHS at a guitar show. I like the`84 show better than the`85 because Graham Bonnet is the lead singer so they do a bunch of old Rainbow tunes and they also do Desert Song by MSG. Yngwie tears in up on the cover tunes and on everthing else including his solo!

ebay is where I scored the Leningrad show. I've never seen it in the shops.

best Yngwie show I ever saw was at LAmours in Brooklyn in 1988.
                  he lit that place up.

I've seen him 8 times over the years.
