  • Ummm..I may be GAY for JORN LANDE!!

..Cool, now that got your attention. I must say..the title to this thread may not stray far from the truth..I'm "IN LOVE" with the voice, writing and style of Jorne Lande..most dudes know me as the death/thrash dude..but I listen to Jorn a hell of a lot..I have every peice of work he's ever recorded..including Masterplan RIP, Jorn's solo cds, The Battle w/ Russel Allen, Millenium, ARK, Vagabond w/ Ronnie Le Tekro, Beyond Twilight, and Mundanus Imperium..and various projects..

He's my favorite favorite singer by far..to me nobody even comes close..the more I listen to this guy ..the more amzed and enthused I am..I think the guy has it all..power, range, fire, emotion, dynamics..and he covers alot of styles from AOR to mean snarls over bash beats in some rare and great moments..

Honestly before I even had a computer I kept emailing the VH camp and just kept dropping this guys name..I thought he would be a perfect fit..because he can do no wrong in my book and whatever music is thrown at him he just takes it and runs with it ..like no other singer I have ever heard before..including all the greats..such as Dio, Ian Gillan, David Coverdale, Robert Plant..actually he's like all those dudes combined..

Whenever I listen to the Battle with Russel Allen who is another vocal god I always finding myself just waiting for the Jorn moments, he just breathes fuggin' fire..As you know when you listen to Symphony X, you think..how can you get better than that..but when paired with Jorn..he falls a tad short..

I was really into Mats Levins for a while who has a similair vocals range and tone especially in Abstrkt Algebra..but still he doesn't posses the fire of Jorne lande..

I just to give this guy the fuggin' props he truly deserves..he's done so much work for so many years and I firmly belive he deserves to be a wold reknown singer..but he yet to really break thru..which I don't get..he's a class act and there is no one like him..he can actually polish a turd with proff of Mundanus Imperium, which is a mediocre band for his caliber..they do a cool version of "Stargazer" on it..but the band just isn't all that great..but he certainly picks up the slack so it's not a total piece of crap..without him it would be..

Much like my enthisiam of Uli Roth..I wanted to share my enthusiam of Jorn Lande..because there's days when I really don't want to listen to extreme music..this is what I go to and he always delivers and brings me lots of joy..and that's a good thing..

anyone familiar with Jorn, I'm prolly preaching to the choir..I know Vit G sure loves him as well..amazing talent such as this need and must be mentioned..and he must be heard..trust me , the more you listen to his music, the more the hooks and his style will dig into you..I'm completely addicted to Jorn..I heard rumor that he maybe working with Uli Roth..that would be a dream come true for me..two of most insprational artists of all time..that would be great..I hope it's more than rumore.

anyone not familiar with his work and wants to check out some stuff I strongly urge both Masterplan discs, and Jorn's "world changer" to start..I also love his work in Ark as well..he really go for a Coverdale vibe on that one.. oh and of course ..The snakes which is originaly members of the classic Whitesnake line up, before Sykes..If your into stuff like Whitesnake and Blue Murder..Masterplan is a absolute must Have ..IMO..

You know what ..Masterplan has a video out or two..you may found them on youtube..I not great with searches..so if they can be located and posted..that would rule..whatever Jorn related vid would have my complete attention!!

Jorn fuggin' rules..I just wanted to share this..

    Later Guys..

I'm the biggest fan of Whitesnake and Blue Murder but don't like Masterplan one bit music wise, it's more like power metal than groovy kick ass hard rock, but I dig Jorn's singing. Masterplan doesn't have a guitargod-genius-songwriter like Sykes and a powerfull groove oriented rhythm section.

His solo albums are another thing, I like those, good rockers.
And yes he can cover a lot of ground, Dio, Plant, Gillan, Coverdale, Dickinson etc. But Coverdale is my fav. and the best in my book, so fuggums

Jorn is very good though, doesn't have the balls of Sebastian Bach and Baz' in your face singing style but overall he is pretty versatile. I don't know how good he is at blues, jazz, gospel or covering Freddie Mercury but in classic rock style he is one of the best new singers, if not the best.
Sometimes he is too much "operatic" wich is cool but not my thing. Also he doesn't have a very unique identity due trying to sound like all the famous guys.

I personally wouldn't imagine him in VH, because he isn't hilarious like Dave and doesn't write songs about banging chicks Not to mention Daves stage antics.
VH is too "glam" for his singing style, British hard rock and heavy metal is more suitable for him IMO.

Hmmm..Power metal..well some yes..I guess so..but he's very diverse..hmm let me see if I can find something.."Sunset Station" actually could be a Sammy era VH tune easily..I think so..

but here's one..I wouldn't say this exactly Power metal..I think it's a bit more "Hard Rock"..

          Here E..watch this one..

          Here's a Masterplan tune..

I wish found something from "The Snakes" it's total classic Whitesnake worship...well..the name implies that as well with the original guitarist..Bernie Mardsen is it..

I had the pleasure to meet and work with him when ARK played Progpower, when he played the Karmoygeddon fest in Norway earlier this year, and when he headlined at Progpower this year.
Very gracious dude, and he has one of the most emotional voices in metal. May not have the range of some other dudes, but his voice has a character to it that is awesome.

I know those tunes Bill, nothing like Whitesnake, more like mellow goth rock like HIM or something like that, those keyboards are really annoying too

His solo stuff is much better IMO.

I still don't see him fronting Van Halen

                    maybe for REO Speedwagon perhaps

Bill you are high I didn't say that Jorn doesn't have a Whitesnake side, I said Masterplan doesn't sound like Whitesnake. Some Jorn's songs from his solo albums indeed sound similar to Whitesnake.
And I know Company Of Snakes, they have some other dude singing most of the songs though.

Jorn's on my very short list of singers I'd love to work with. The second Ark album was phenomenal!
