So do you guys think he'll roll over to a new brand (hopefully back to Jackson) in time for the new album/videos/tour/etc.... ? Since the new disc is supposed to come out at the beginning of the year, I could see it coming together in time I suppose. Would make sense.

That *was* his main complaint, but the deal went from 11 guitars per year to 1.

He was also upset because he'd tried to put investors together to buy the Jackson company himself, but Fender got it instead. So Dave being Dave, he probably thought they were fucking with him specifically when they cut down the number of guitars given to ALL endorsees. Hell, the vast majority of Jackson endorsees don't get ANY freebies, just a discount endorsement.

They also lowered the money they were paying him because at the time he was basically in retirement with his injured arm. They felt he wasn't worth as much as an "active" endorsee.

That whole scenario is probably what prompted him to bring back Megadeth, so he could make a new endorsement deal more to his liking. I guess those DV8s aren't selling like they hoped they would.

From what I heard, he was having monitor issues during that performance. If you listen to how he's singing right before he goes for the Olympic gold in ESP shot putting, I can believe it. Dave's in an outta key usually, but this was pretty bad even for him.

Dave would never throw a KV... would he? I know I wouldn't Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's the DV8 that a Megadeth forum member/fan painted for him. He coulda tossed any guitar, but he chose the fan art one... ouch. (disclaimer: not baggin' on Dave, so go easy on me LOL. I love Mustaine's playing and he's, IMO, the best metal guitarist for my money hands down)

I just imagine him feverishly working on the story, fine-tuning his prose, remembering funny little anecdotes, maybe putting together some illustrations, contacting publishers, making important decisions like whether to staple or bind the spine.

Actually the info was confirmed by a guy named Pharaoh who has very close ties to ESP and is an avid posted at the official megadeth forums. He's a luthier and also in a band that plays all the porno conventions.

Real nice guys, very knowledgeable and doesn't BS like vince does.
